vandenberg,
Happy Halloween to you too! We are trying to get into the spirit of the season at our house too...

I heard a large amount of squawking out front and went to investigate...there were five large crows up on the telephone wire, cawing like crazy while taking turns swooping down and attacking the poor fake crow attached to my mail box! The fake guy lost some tail feathers and a few wing feathers before I could scare the real muggers away! And to think, the fake plastic lizard didn't back him up!

edit: added today's crow attack.

You really have a peculiar sense of humor, Paulina. I guess I've known that for some time now.

Is that a bridal veil on the marlin? Whatever for?

The lizard chewing on the crow, though. That's too much.

Thanks. Your pictures always raise my spirits.

The bridal veil is Bob Marlin's costume for the holiday. We dress him up depending on the season. (His name is Bob for the man who caught him, Bob McIntosh, La Paz, May 1958)

The lizard lives full time on the top of my mail box. I put flowers in his mouth for our postal worker. The crow is seasonal. The reason the lizard and the lobster are on the mail box is to bug the self proclaimed guardian of the Elfin Forest neighbor across the street.

We have two sets of duck decoy spaced around our front yard. The neighbor made mention that he didn't care for my sense of decor, as he felt it interfered with look of the native plants growing there.

Because his mail box is next to mine, he had no problems spotting the lizard and the lobster the next day. He didn't have to look under the native plants for those.

I don't think he much cares for our Peanut's gang either. Specially when they are exchanged for the Peanut's Christmas gang in December, complete with flashing Christmas lights on Snoopy's dog house.

He can be the boss of his yard and his native plants, but not mine.

Happy Halloween.

I hear the europeans can't resist the urge to pinch those pumpkins.

Oh Paulina, didn't the grouchy guy realize he was giving you an invitation to unleash your creativity?

You'd be a fun neighbor to have!
