Baja California, myths and legends

fdt - 10-24-2007 at 07:27 PM

Gearing up for Dia de Muertos / Halloween, we will be talking on tomorrow's show (Oct 25th) about the diferent myths and legends of Baja California, stories like La Mano Peluda, La Llorona and more :o :O so tune in 6PM Pacific.

How about the one where the whales have a route from Ojos de lebre, under baja to bola.

Steve Meling also showed me a cave on punta banda that the Japanese used in WWII.

DENNIS - 10-24-2007 at 07:38 PM

I've seen that cave if it's out on the east side of the point. Rumor I got was it was used by US coast watchers. I wonder what Art Bell would have to say about this.

Yep, obviously hand dug. Easy/ secure access from a boat.

I'm bummed, I missed the show tonight.

Are the shows archived anywhere so we can hear them again? k

I thought La Llorona was a Mexican (vs Baja) story?

It seems to move around a lot. I always thought it originated in Oaxaca, but there's even a local Yuma version that has a woman drowning her children in one of the local canals (that didn't exist before the dams on the Colorado)

No archieves but Ive been trying to get fer to re air the shows at like 10 am the next morning. So it would be available twice... Just prerecorded the second time around.

Al G - 10-27-2007 at 05:35 PM

I enjoyed the stories...missed the Baja Sur show. I am going to invest in an alarm clock for my computer area:lol:

fdt - 10-27-2007 at 07:25 PM

I'm desperate for the archives to be up also since without them it will be harder to get advertisers.
