Avoid confusion during this week

fdt - 10-28-2007 at 08:33 AM

Time change came into effect today in México, we are no longer on Daylight Time, it is now Standard Time. Once again this started today, so for this week until the US changes to Standard Time on November 4th, specialy if you are catching flights, have meetings, need to conduct business in México, keep this in mind.
Between now and Nov 4th just by crossing the border from California to Baja California or viceversa you will have an hour difference.
As for our radio show, it will air at the same time, 6PM Pacific Standard time (Baja California time), 7PM Mountain Standard Time (Baja California Sur time), but now for those in California, for this comming week only, it will happen 1 hour earlier, at 7PM Pacific Daylight time.

Boy do I wish they would quit playing games with the time. at least they used to all do it on the same day. no mater what they do there is still the same amount of daylight hours in a day and nothing they can do will change that so what the heck is the point?

fdt - 10-28-2007 at 09:08 AM

I agree, pero que hacerle?

Advising the Confused

MrBillM - 10-28-2007 at 09:41 AM

It is, for the most part, a futile task.

Those who find themselves confused by these sorts of events will continue to be confused regardless of such well-intentioned efforts.

fdt - 10-28-2007 at 09:46 AM

Now I'm confused

Minnow - 10-28-2007 at 09:52 AM

If you are wondering how all this started, just look at my tag line. Yes, it is a riddle.

:lol::lol:
Thank goodness you don't keep 2 for BCS, you'd need more rooms

Viva Arizona! We have no truck with such foolishness here. The only problem is when we have to figure out what time it is elsewhere. People who work outdoors here often have a winter schedule and a summer schedule to deal with the heat. It makes a lot more sense to change your activities to fit the time than to pretend the time has changed to fit your activities.

toneart - 10-28-2007 at 10:36 AM

Hose A is compounding my confusion. Now I have to worry about having four clocks in two rooms, keeping track of which room is which and remembering why I have four clocks in the first place. I can't even begin to fathom the time issue until I have answered the other questions. And then, you had to import New York angst to the West Coast. Sounds like a Woody Allen movie.

Our only consolation is MrBill's benevolent post that pinpoints, with absolute clarity, that something is wrong with the rest of us. It saves us a ton of $$$. Now we won't have to give it to the Shrink. :?::?::?::lol::lol::lol:

longlegsinlapaz - 10-28-2007 at 10:52 AM

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm....nobody has questioned whether we're supposed to "spring forward"....or "fall back" yet!:lol: Oops! Didn't mean to add to the confusion!;)

Compounding the Problem

MrBillM - 10-28-2007 at 12:43 PM

Is the fact that we most frequently "Fall" forward when we trip and we often Spring "Back" to avoid mishap.

It all works out eventually, though.

What percentage of people that this makes sense for, would however be easily confused?

;)

I plan to put the watch away

capitolkat - 10-31-2007 at 05:41 AM

When I finally settle into Baja sur I plan to put the watch away-- does that work for most of you???

Bob and Susan - 10-31-2007 at 05:50 AM

i got rid of the watch a long time ago too...

but ... i need a clock around

susan ONLY lets me eat at noon....

Bruce R Leech - 11-1-2007 at 11:26 PM

Avoid confusion during this week?

why should I not have confusion during this week?

why should this week be any deferent than the rest?

never mind I think I am confused:?:

David K - 11-2-2007 at 07:47 AM

Since more of the year is in Daylight Savings than 'Standard' time.... why is the shorter duration time change still called 'standard'?

How about just leaving it at the Daylight setting... I mean the winter months are shorter days anyway, why do we compound that loss by taking another hour of daylight away from us with the 5 month long 'standard' time setting?:?::light::lol:

David,
You sound confused. :lol::?::lol:

toneart - 11-2-2007 at 08:25 AM

With each passing day, time is less and less on our side.
So if you die during Daylight Savings, you are lucky by one hour.........................I think. :?::o:wow:

David K - 11-2-2007 at 08:30 AM

Yah, something like that! lol

Since most of the year's time setting should be the 'standard' or normal time, let's call the shorter part of the year DAYLIGHT LOSING TIME, since we move the clock back to LOSE an hour of daylight!

toneart - 11-2-2007 at 08:34 AM

So here's the solution: Don't reset the clocks. You can cheat death and deny confusion..........until you die, and then it becomes a moot point (in time). :light:

fdt - 11-4-2007 at 08:22 AM

Time to end the confusion. Although from some of the responses, it could go on.
Didn't meant to confuse you more :lol:

vandenberg - 11-4-2007 at 08:30 AM

Anyway, What time is it.:?::?;)

David K - 11-4-2007 at 08:47 AM

is it 7:43?
