Hi All,
My gf and I are heading to Loreto for a couple weeks, the last part of November. Can anyone recommend a place to stay for a few days that's less then
$50 or so a night? We are retired and on a bit of a budget. We don't need to be on the beach or play golf, just a quiet place for a home base. Even
out of town a ways would be fine, but we are on foot this time, not on our usual touring bicycles. I can't seem to find any home stays and most
hotels/motels on the web are on the expensive side. Thanks for any replies!

Why Loreto? My suggestion would be La Paz. More choices, especially on foot.

Have you considered Mulege? Many options in that price range. If you are flying it would be a 2 hr or less bus trip from Loreto. Just a thought.
Have a great time.

If the Iguana Inn is full, the "Yurt" at SuKasa is $55. and easy walking distance to most anywhere you'll want to go in town.

Radiocycle,
There are several Mexican type hotel/motels in town which look very nice. Some are even building new rooms as we speak. They should be around the $ 25
to $ 40 range.Don't believe there would be any problem finding accomodations ,even if you just show up. Gringos are way to fuzzy when it comes to
having to have reservations. Traveled all through the Mexican interior without a single reservation and never slept on a park bench.

check your U2U re a private rental I know of. also I agree with vandenberg...there are a number of reasonable Mexican hotels of varying price and
quality.

Wow, thanks for all the replies! This is an active forum. We are planning on making it up to Mulege and to La Paz as well if we can cram it all in.
Thanks also for the well wishes.

The hotel is right on the malecon across from the marina. $40.00 per night. only 5 rooms. Clean and comfortable. Gail Wright the american owner will
treat you great. Our favorite,k
I usually stay at the Motel El Dorado.

It's close to everything down town and pretty reasonable. I think we paid about $50 per night when we were there last year.

We stayed at the Juniper in right downtown, very cheap, can't remember but around $30 and although a bit er um rustic...we found it very adequate and
central. Our good amigo alejandro has his office in that hotel too (Ecounionadventures I think, it's a fishing and diving booking office)...make sure
you look him up, real cool dude! He'll make sure you have fun.
