Bad Attitude

Barbareno - 11-18-2007 at 12:30 PM

I am getting a real bad attitude. I'm here on a Sunday, cleaning my kitchen sink and thinking about the Baja. Counting the days for departure. As I scrub away I'm thinking "I wish I was in the Motor Home cleaning the sink in there". Then I think....I don't want to come back here and I haven't even left yet. Bad attitude. I just want to get down there and relish in the moment, not have to think about coming back. Is that a problem for anyone else?

"I don't want to come back here." That might depend on where is "here". Anyway, Baja will change your "bad attitude" once you are there. Where in Baja are you going? Do you have to come back to "here"?

To answer your question, no. I employ the following remedy: If you can allow yourself the luxury of staying in Baja long enough, and if you have the ability to tune out any thoughts of returning until it is time to come back "here", Baja can relieve that anxiety. Another factor is, I also like where "here" is. I feel I have the best of both worlds. :bounce:

The past 2 years, as I have headed north, I have stopped in San Quinton the night before crossing.
The temps have always been over 60 and sunny with maybe 50 degree nights.

The next day, I cross and stop at Potrero where the temps are a bit cooler during the day.
Next morning I wake to below freezing and always ask myself "Are you nuts ? Why not turn around and head south for good ?"

Wife, kids, job, etc...... Hmmm, maybe next year ?

Toneart...I live in God's country BC Canada but it sucks the big one come Nov-Mar. when ice fishing is not your preference. Yep gotta come back to keep working so we can header south for good. Not too many more years and we are actually watching our dreams come to fruition.

We are going to Bahia Asuncion. Only because after reading in this here forum. We were undecided at the beginning, wanted to revist past haunts and still might. But the warm welcome from Shari and friends, not to mention all those fishing reports, well we just might park er there for the duration. Or when they run out of cervaeza's.

Barbara,

Your bad attitude has to do with cleaning, not baja. My advice is: no more cleaning. Tie your arms to your sides if need be and resist the urge to clean that sink. Preferrably in baja, of course.

Barbareno, can't blame you a bit. I have a lot of questions about ice fishing. I'm thinking it must be just for the sport because there's probably no real good way to cook icefish. I think even poached wouldn't work too well. Civiche - no way. There's probably something to be said for not having to clean them and they probably don't have a bad smell at any time but even on light tackle they probably don't put up much of a fight. I'm guessing the flyguys don't cotten to em because it would be so very hard to sight cast to em unless they were in direct bright sunlight. I'll do some checking around. I just lack data on those things.

guesstimate

I get in a pretty foul mood when I start packing up my stuff to go back home. For me, the short amount of time I spend at our Beach House is just not enough time.

speaking from experience, the only way to a permanent attitude adjustment is to move here. we did it 3 1/2 years ago and oh what a difference it makes.:tumble:
these ARE the good old days:lol:
