"ball-c-ck" transplant...

Bob and Susan - 11-25-2007 at 12:59 PM

Sucessfull "ball-c-ck" transplants at Playa Frambes:lol:

(i LOVE that name!!!

New Fluidmaster "Ball-c-cks" were installed today replacing the old-type units that came with the toilets.

These could save us 1000's of gallons of water in one flush!!!

the new "old-style" "ball-c-cks" were sticking open:o

None of these things last forever. If you want to save even more water, stack a few bricks in the corner of the tank.

Works great, only than you have to flush 2 to 3 times :biggrin:

Been there, done that :bounce:

Yeah, those old style toilet guts stink. Dennis, the ones he has in there now can be adjusted so the amount of water that fills the tank can be limited.

Bob, I would also recommend a ball valve on the shower heads. That way guests don't have to adjust the hot and cold every time they take a shower, and the water flow can be easily reduced, using the ball valve, if you only want a little out of the tap. Like when the ladies are shaving their nether regions.

Glad to hear Playa Frambes is Green. Any other "Green" features?

Next trip down I will bring your Lizards. You got the ficus' planted?

DENNIS - 11-25-2007 at 01:50 PM

Water saver shower heads are a big saver but, I don't know if paying guests would have the motivation to use them.

Minnow - 11-25-2007 at 01:54 PM

Dennis, I am not talking about the head type ones. Just put a ball valve inline to the head. Not everyone wants to use all they can, just because they can. I am not talking about you, of course.

Bob and Susan - 11-25-2007 at 02:41 PM

minnow show me a picture of wht you are talking about

hand sprayers are required (in CA) to have a little leak so not to blow the hose out

is that the kind of valve you're talking about

Russ - 11-25-2007 at 04:16 PM

I've had one(newer flush valves) for about 5 years now and just replaced it with a new one last week. Set it at half tank and no double flushes. The shower valve, with a single handle and is a "water saver", with my low pressure water system I only got a Dibble out. Use to be you could pull out the plastic water saver part and have a nice shower. I think they are ported now and can't get improved flow. I tried two and then went with the old fashion two knob valve. Niiice

DENNIS - 11-25-2007 at 04:40 PM

Well, if you really want to save water in the shower, just turn down the heat. Maybe off.

Bob and Susan - 11-25-2007 at 05:34 PM

when you come down dennis

i'll do that for ONLY you:lol::lol:

Ahhhh Lake Elsinore. I have a beautiful view of the lake from my house and the air is fine. HAHAHAHA.

Ahhhhh Punta Banda. I remember we used to cross over on a little boat from Estero Beach going up the channel on the east side of punta banda and go exploring. Back then there was nothing but a few buildings and some Americans camping on the beaches. They used to give us food when we came over. There was also the remains of a hotel that was being built back then but for some reason abandoned. We used to play inside. We also used to go on the mud flats east of Estero Beach and dig up razor clams to sell.

Minnow,
Dern wants to know what a "Nether region" is. I have an idea, but what is your definition?

Maybe if this nether region business is going to soak up Bob's water consumption, then he should consider adding to to a "spa package" for his female guests? Everything in moderation  Nether waxing would be considered "green".
