Immigrant - a person who migrates to another country, usually for permanent residence.
Alien - a resident born in or belonging to another country who has not acquired citizenship by naturalization.
Undocumented - lacking proper immigration or working papers.
Illegal - forbidden by law or statute.
Using the dictionary definitions of the words, it is difficult for me to understand how anyone can use any terms other than 'illegal aliens' or maybe
'illegal immigrants'. Many, maybe most, are not undocumented. Fraudulent documents are readily available for a nominal sum.
I'm not sure that your wife's student can title the paper so that it doesn't 'offend' someone. I for one am getting tired of politically correct
