Yellowtail season is here

Don Alley - 12-5-2007 at 07:38 PM

After a fall catching dorado, sierra, roosters, greenjacks, bonita...finally got a couple of quality yellowtail today. San Bruno reef, 125-130 feet deep, large live big eye baits. 27 & 30 lbs. The smaller one pulled much harder, pinning me to the gunwale.
Paula's photos:

There was a traffic jam of boats fishing at Isla Coronado; only two other boats moved up to San Bruno. Water temps were much cooler, 69-70 degrees SST. Some residual swells (it was much rougher in the rips around Coronado) and very light winds.
