WEATHER CHANGE

rob - 12-8-2007 at 10:12 AM

It is RAINING off Rancho la Aguja, west of La Paz on the Pacific! So? Well we only get 4" a year, and usually when it rains here the rest of Baja Sur is already floating.

The great weather forecaster in Baja Insider (whose record has been a tad spotty lately) predicts possible rain Saturday night/Sunday as a cold front from California hits us.

vandenberg - 12-8-2007 at 10:31 AM

Rob,
I don't know about this reference to California, because the satellites show the moisture coming from the equatorial south.
The Insider's weather is usually fairly accurate.

Baja Insider says the rain will be caused by the Cal cold front hitting tropical humidity down here . . .

Insiders weather is very good (that's why I called him/her "great"), but he/she did totally miss the big rains that hit Baja Sur ten days ago, that's why I said " a tad spotty".

But I am loyal fan.

We are ready this time for rain...had to paint the roof but the last few days LOOKED like rain so we didn't do it...but no rain yet..this morning we got a few drops and it's sunny but about 15 knows of westerlies blowing and all clear on the western horizon???? So this rain might come up here from the south??

Sallysouth - 12-8-2007 at 09:54 PM

Well rob, all I can say is that it is about 78( or somewhere there abouts) here in CSL,a titch overcast, No wind and balmy! Certainly no rain as of yet, and forcasts of 20% chance.Ain't gonna happen, and even if it did, I don't care cause I am here! Lo siento for all you snowbirds. It is cold even in So Cal from what I hear today.me thinks I will stay put for awhile:yes:

BajaWarrior - 12-9-2007 at 08:57 PM

Just pulled in from our home below San Felipe, raining big time coming across the Laguna Salada 60 miles north of San Felipe.

The rain continued all the way to the border. After crossing into the U.S. and all the way home to San Diego, it was clear as a bell.

Looked pretty dark in our area, anyone know if it rained in the South Campos this afternoon?

bajajudy - 12-10-2007 at 01:21 PM

Lotsa thunder and lightening last night. Mochi, scared to death, was allowed to sleep inside. A couple of good down pours. Power went out.
Power back on about 11am. Mostly blue skies. Kinda steamy but not too bad.
Jeez it just got very dark. better go investigate.

Cypress - 12-10-2007 at 01:29 PM

Put some clothes on the line to dry here in Mulege and it just started raining. It's also windy.:tumble:

Cypress - 12-10-2007 at 04:29 PM

Yea! The rain missed the clothes, but the wind whipped 'em dry.:D
