Fellow Nomads know of anything interesting / low key fun going on in Loreto New Years Eve?
Shing isn't coming this trip.... and last year on NYE (also solo in Loreto) I was asleep by 9:30... with a "good book" next to my pillow...
Week and a half to go to feel a little warmth! (I shovelled and "snowblow'd" 7 driveways & walkways this AM..) arrrrrrrrgh!

I tried to go to bed early last New Year's Eve. I was lying in the screen tent, watching the sky, slowly drifting to sleep with the sound of ranchero
music in the distance...SCRatch scratch scratch shuffle shuffle scratch...a gopher was under the floor.
I pounded him into the ground several times over an hour until he shut up or went away. Or died.
Aaaah! As my head again sank into the pillow, I heard the distant music and the popping of firecrackers...DAMN! That was a BULLET whizzing overhead!
And another! And another!
I went back into the concrete house and eventually drifted off by 2 AM.

New Years in Loreto
There's always a big bash at the Municipal Auditorium. Most folks reserve tables in advance. Beer is sold on premis, and people bring in coolers of
food and snacks. Live music and dancing. We've gone a couple of times. But as with many of the local's parties, it gets going late, lasts until the
morning and I don't know if I have the energy anymore.
For local gringos, Stroker's Reef bar will have some goings on.
Thanks, Don

I may have to check out the fairly new Strokers Reef. I walked by several times during construction.... and I walked by in Nov. on an eve that it
was closed... guess I should check it out when open and full of folks. I'm generally good for one Tequila drink... (I'm a real lightweight...)
The late night Municipal Auditorium party sounds really fun too, but I don't know if I can stay awake that late/early into the next day... guess I
need to really settle in. . . adjust my routine to include a daily siesta, late dinner, late nights out. . .
And Vandy..... leave those gophers alone!!! Word gets out in the hood that you're anti-gopher and all hell's gonna break out
Almost time to say Merry Christmas to all my fellow Nomad Amigos y amigas, and soon to be amigos y amigas ! Life is good ~ and full of adventures and
surprises... and we've much to be thankful for.

Don't worry about staying up, Don is correct , the various functions start late (11pm) and end early (8am New Year's Day). From your property it
should be no problem rockin' out from the privacy of your own bed. And remember don't drive until about noon on New Year's as the streets can be
quite dicey with the traffic headed home.
Also...7th annual open house at The Iguana Inn noon-4pm.....Black Eyed Peas and Bloody Mary's.
See you then
