Up to the Minute on Road to Bahia Asuncion

As I promised, Diver, here it is and for any others coming this way.

In a hurry so this will be quick ---still unpacking

Road from Vizcaino to turn off.

Near Vizcaino some of the pot holes washed out, not too bad but some good size pieces broken along the side in a few areas---not really that bad. Drive down the middle of the road and not a problem, unless a truck comes the other way.:lol: Should not be a real problem---just don't speed.

Along the causeways where it has been really bad in the past, it has been repaired, and of course, the rain etc. is hurting the repair. But, it is just not real smooth---nothing deep.

Dune is plowed and pushed aside---just slow as a few pot holes there.

Paved road from turn off----First part GREAT---the old dirt road along the side is GONE---nature took it back. A few broken parts, but well marked.

Then there is one major washout where one of the drain pipes was installed----well marked and they graded a little bypass---take it nice and slow.

A few more breaks and broken road---really sad to see the new road hurt.:no: But, the breaks are on only one side or the other and you can drive around them----most are clearly marked in one way or another, but a couple are not, so keep the eyes OPEN.

Dirt part----boy was there a lot of water----again, some breaks but only on one side or the other. Over all condition is not really washboardy, but lumpy----we just drove it slower than usual. The trucks are making it---some grading has been down.

When I say lumpy, I don't mean huge lumps---only in a couple of areas---again, just go slowly. A couple of the usual soft sandy areas are no longer soft---sand went bye, bye.

Just DO NOT drive out here after dark----but I know you won't

Have a safe trip, and for everyone, this trip down we saw more cows along side the road between El Rosario and Catavina then ever in the past--lots of green stuff to eat.
