Go to lonelyplanet.com, click Thorntree, go to the Mexico forum.
Best maps are from Guia Roji

mgray;
The Baja Bush Pilots are your best Bet for Accruate and good Information on Current things in the Mainland and Baja.
There are by far the best place to get info on Crossing the Border in a Private Airplane.
They really come through on Emergenies and Searchs etc.
I was a Member in the Late 60's and early 70's when the Organization was small, all the old Airstrips were open and there were very little if any Nav, Aids. Flying into Baja was truly "By the Seat of your Pants"!

The only Negative is that they have been come Large and Lost the "Personal Touch".
Being an Old Timer of 76 Yers Old, Korean Vet, and Former Baja Bush Pilot, I ask if I might become and Honorary Member as I don"t Fly much anymore.
Just thought I might be able to Post some information from my Flying years that might help some of the Newer Pilots.
Too say the Least, I was not well received. But I forgive them as us Old Timers are Shuttled Aside for the New Breed of Pilot with their Fancy Aircraft and all the New Gadgets.

The Lonely Planet forum has good info but it sure isn't as easy to navigate as the Nomads.

Have you been to ontheroadin.com yet? They have an excellent road guide that is updated regularly and is downloaded after paying. You pay for the distance you want to go. NOt a true map but very valuable. The site operators also recommend the best maps for mexico.

mgray, Hook is right on with his recommendation of ontheroadin.com as it has very good maps that show gas/diesel stations, food, sites of interest, kilometers markers so you always know where you are at, toll roads, military stops, agriculture stations, etc. Used it going to Maztlan last year and it is very good.
