Another beauty. The malecon in La Paz is turning into quite an art gallery!

I donīt want to diminish the La Paz Malacon.... however the statues all seem to small for the scale..... If you have been to the Malacon in Puerto
Villarta you will notice that the statues are fifteen to twenty feet in height...... and in La Paz they are hardly ten feet tall..... they are dwarfed
by the overall scale of the setting.
And what is that stupid one of Cortez? standing with a bathtub around his waist?

You probably mean "El viejo y el Mar", and Cortes is sperlled with an "S".
Why don't you move to Vallarta?bajajudy - 12-28-2007 at 10:42 AM
Really Ron
That one is one of my favorites. Look at the detail on his feet sometime. And I believer that it is the artist name has Cortes in it.
Sounds like you moved to the wrong placeAlan - 12-28-2007 at 11:20 AM
Obviously it is true that beauty is in the eye of the beerholder. I think they are perfect. 15-20' tall would spoil views and be too imposing. As
they are, it is nice to stroll along the malecon and come upon them one at a time. The old man in the boat has always been one of my favorites along
with the mermaid. I really like the way they used scallop shells to make up the scales on her tail along with the scallop ear rings.
