Mexicali Crossing Today 12/28

CortezBlue - 12-29-2007 at 10:23 PM

Curious
I left San Felipe this morning at 6 AZ time and decided to try the crossing at San Luis. It was about 40 minutes or so. Curious if anyone crossed at Mexicali East in the morning at about 9 or so? I am trying to see if I like the crossing at San Luis better.

Also, does anyone have an opinion about crossing at Los Algedones instead of San Luis?

Mexicali crossing at either the East or the Old Port is about 1 1/2 hours right now but it is the holidays. With the Sentri it only takes 15 minutes and I crossed both Friday and Saturday in Sentri lane because I had things to do in Mexicali. Now the Algedones port is only one lane and the time is about the same as Mexicali right now or it was when I crossed there a few weeks ago. Sounds like San Luis was quicker right now. Get the Sentri and be happy!!!!!! Later-------------------bajafun777

In Los Algodones the day-trippers for medical stuff make the line quite lont, but if you hit when they are not returning to the US, there hasn't been much delay - early mornings.

On the 28th the MXL East was 1 hour at 10:30am and it was going up about 10-15 minutes longer each hour. I crossed at 1:29 and it was 1.5 hours. The line was way out on the main road further then I have seen. Not sure how many lines they have but the phone recording said they had 8 lines open.

The downtown port was way past la voz but was shorter after we crossed I think they were close to 2 hours.

Re; The East crossing, i exited
at the East Crossing coming back
to So Cal a few months ago,
after hearing how smooth the
east crossing is, while waiting
in line to exit, I observed what
appeared to be 75% of vehicles
coming into Mex, being pulled
into Mex Secondary for a search,
have never seen so many
searches at any entry point,
don't know if this was a correct
observation or not, unless driving
an RV i would probably come
back thru mexicali
