Here's a shot of a panga racing to shore as the tide recedes ... the higher resolution version is crisper, but I like how it turned out.
How about your shots of pangueros?

Well, these guys were really fishing... Saw them on shore.
But I didn't get a photo of the panga stuck in the mud and revving his outboard at 2 a.m. and at low tide when were were stuck on Isla Montague next
to the Colorado River trying to find dry land in our sea kayaks (see the December issue of Sea Kayaker). That panga did not acknowledge us and the
driver ducked out of our light - suprise! Who would have thought kayakers would have been there, lost or otherwise? Maybe that subject deserves
another thread?
Anyway, have any photos panga fishermen?

Good topic, Greg.
Love those shots of the pangas/pangueros in silhouette!
I enjoyed watching the pelicans dive bomb the area around these pangueros... everyone trying to catch their fill before the storm set in.

Speaking of Pangueros, the Mexican Navy just purchased 20 of these boats to patrol areas of the Sea of Cortez.

This panga on the Caribbean coast of Costa Rica may be named for the reef offshore a mile or two......... or maybe not.
Well-named panga, Bill.

Pangas...always a welcome sight to me when out on the blue.
The one is named ..Mar 'something' or Sea - ?. I never took notice of it's full name at the time and I can't quite make out the letters in my photo.
Makes no difference..they all say 'Baja' to me.
Yup...Got the 'green' light ...good to go.

Thanks Nena.
The color of that water looks especially good to me also on this rainy day in So Cal.
Our rain guage is over 4" for this storm!

Great Photos everyone - thanks! In another life I might have been a fisherman. It's easy to idealize the lifestyle. Perhaps 100 years ago would
have been the time...

I give up on this resizing crap. Take my word for it, it was a beautiful shot.

You are correct that is Pepe of BOLA. He is quite a character. Last 4th of July he put us on fish on an otherwise slow day.
That guy drops more "F" bombs than any mexican I have ever been around.

I agree, it is easy to idealize this lifestyle---but then we spent over 5 hours out with some lobster fishermen---a great experience, but no more
fantasy, it is is just a lot of hard work!
