New Year Yellowtail...Tim named Asuncion's Fisherman of the Year

shari - 1-4-2008 at 08:52 AM

Yesterday Juan took out Bajaboy and Tim for a hot day of fishing...the competition was stiff but my paisano Tim from BC canada eh...has taken the lead in this year's Asuncion Fisherman of the Year competition bringing in a 40 pound yellowtail. This new award will be presented at the end of 2008 to the fisherman who brings in the biggest fish this year. Yellows were everywhere so they only had to begin trolling in front of our house when they started catching them. Diver and Tiomiguel are out right now hoping to break this years record.

nice fish had by all but are you sure that is a 40 pounder? it looks more like a 28 to 32 just guessing. doesnt really matter as its all good eating. wish i could have made the trip.

It sure looked skinny in the pics alright but it was long...anyway Tim is still the champ as Tiomiguel and Diver only caught bonitas!

The fish was thin but 44 inches long. I'd guess it was in the upper 30# range.

We had a great time that day. We had a tail on the boat within 10 minutes of fishing. Tim was stoked considering he hadn't caught a yellowtail previously and went home with 4. All in all a good time with great people.
