As part of my 2008 resolution to post on subject (jaja), check out the illusions which appeared on Jan 6th in Bahia de la Ventana looking toward
Ceralvo. The normally sloping beach developed false cliffs and a top hat below, reflecting the island.

Those are great shots of that optical effect. One can see the same effect at times when looking south across Palmas Bay towards Punta Colorada. I
lived on the shores of the strait of Juan de Fuca in Washington and I'd see the same effect on the San Juan Islands in the distance. I would think
there is a name for this type of optical illusion. Hopefully an informed Nomad will clue us in.
