Ensenada-San Diego, twice is nice!

Left the "PUB" on a recent friday, to pick up a friend from San Diego airport. Free road was without traffic and hills were green from recent rains. Crossed at Otay, 25 minute wait.

If you're in San Diego on a friday, check out this place. Free buffet of meaty, juicy wings and mariachis in Mission Valley, south side of I-8.

Back at the "PUB", Stephanie is enjoying the view of Puerto Escondido, near La Bufadora. Fun hikes all over Punta Banda peninsula for those interested in physical challenges.
Neighbor Meg(seated, rt side) is enjoying her first hike down and back up from hidden beach.

Sunny day in Ensenada. Walked malecon, fish market fish taco stands, Lopez Mateos shopping area, Fausto Polanco furniture store, new art museum and Palacio. Didn't realize there was a history museum in the Palacio, 10 peso donation. Pics, artifacts, english and spanish explanations for a 30 minute tour. Mission history grabs my attention.

Also visited India Bonita restaurant(west of Maneadero), BajaMama's(PuntaBanda sand spit) and La Bufadora Grill. Service and food values solid at all 3. Just ask for huevos seco for omelettes or huevos at India Bonita, as they pour some kind of chicken broth over the food. And avoid the inexpensive tasteless tacos at taco tuesday at LaBuf.

Back across via free road and Otay Mesa, 23 minute wait on a friday at 1PM. Clay's Sky Lounge in La Jolla has big band music pictured above. 17 piece orchestra plays every Sunday, except during holiday season, no cover charge.

Headed south and stayed at San Marino townhomes, north Rosarito. Got my breakfast at Calimax, did some shopping in Rosarito and headed back to Ensenada via free road.

That was 2 round trips from my house to San Diego and back in 8 days. Lots to enjoy if you like to adventure off beaten path and trying new things.
