Road Trip - Hotel Suggestions needed

Driving down from Colorado to Todos Santos in March with a suv and trailer, two small dogs and a cat! Any suggestions of favorite hotels would be welcomed. We'll try to make it past Ensenada to try and avoid that area overnight....not quite sure of where we will stop so any suggestions would be appreciated.

ALWAYS the Posada de Don Vicente in Guerrero Negro, reasonable rooms, secure ample parking, dog friendly and long established.

Reservations can be made (in Espanol) at (615) 157-0288 (prefix with 01152 if calling from US.

Nice place and recommended by all who have stayed there.

The Hotel Los Caracoles in Guerrero Negro. Secure, good location, internet.

and in Loreto I highly recommend Mar y Sol trailer park, a little hard to find but worth it. I think they have a website for instructions, or U2U

1. Trusting that you are a veteran of spring mtn driving from this former 28 year Colorado resident. Eyes on forecast, please?
2. Cedar City, UT, Motel 6 provides lots of parking, never busy and is approx halfway house from Denver to San Diego.
3. Holler if you need help in/near Ensenada

bajadock, thanks! Honestly, I am very nervous about traveling as we'll look like such tourists - in our suv and trailer, we don't speak spanish (yet) which is intimidating if we are put into a questionable situation with police or other...any advice or words of encouragement appreciated!

South of Ensenada, turn right at the turn off for Estero Beach Resort. Stay on that road until you come to ENSENADA BEACH HOUSE on your left. Mario's Restaurant is on the corner (left hand side). Very reasonable and Tom will make sure your gear is safe overnight. www.ensenadabeachhouse.com Owner is Tom Polley. And Mario's is a great place for a nice dinner when you arrive.

In El Rosario, another hour or so past San Quintin, Baja Cactus (who is also a Nomad). Many reviews on this site and his own website is under construction. Email info@bajacactus.com for resv.

The above 3 places -- they speak English and will welcome your pets. We know because we travel with 3 dogs and a cat!

Almost all the police speak english as do the people that cater to tourist. Get a spanish/english dictionary and a simple book of phrases and learn a little as you go. Simple words go a long way. Get pesos for gas so you will pay whats on the pump and keep an eye on the attendant. AAA has a very good guide book with a lot of good info on Baja and the AAA map is as good as they get. Don't fdrive a night if possible especially thru TJ and just south.

Dittos on the Motel Six in Cedar City. My truck broke down and they let me leave it there while I drove a rental to Colorado Springs and back. Also let our two dogs stay in the room with us, one a large German Shepard. Very good people.

Yes, Get PESOS! Don't pay for anything with dollars or you will get short-changed. You know which ATMs to use in Baja for your bank?? And tell you bank and credit card companies you will be in Mexico!

Here's another recomendation for Los Caracoles in Guerro Negro. Clean, newish, friendly, free computers in the lobby for patron's use.

Why would you go on an adventure to Mexico and stay at a place where they speak english? That is not much of an adventure. Learn a little spanish and don't stay at any of the above recommendations.

I didn't request english speaking places, just trying to find secure places to stay as we are moving to Mexico and will have a lot of possessions and three pets.
