Radar at Guerrero Negro
Earlier this week I was north bound just south of town where the road cuts of to the west and the Laguna. I was thinking of turning off so I slowed
down to about 45 and I noticed a couple of cars at the intersection and at the same time I decided I would go into town instead. I was still traveling
at about 45 when a police officer put his radar gun up to check me. He jumped back into his pickup and here he came ( I was still under 50 mph) I
pulled over and we both got out of our pickups and he told me I was traveling very fast and he was going to write me a ticket. I knew I was going to
get the ticket no mater what I said so I agreed with him. I started talking to him as he was writing the ticket about everything I could think of and
finely got to talking to him about his family and the onto where he grew up which was La Paz. After about 20 minutes he looked at me and told me that
maybe I was not going as fast as he thought and it was ok for me to continue my trip into town. This was the third time I have tried this in the last
8 years, one being in Cabo and the other was south bound at the border and I really did not want to be inspected and all three times it has worked so

Nice job Steve. You kept your cool and respected the man. A worthy approach to a situation that could easily escalate in the wrong direction.

Hey guys, remember where you are. In Mexico, respectful and polite goes a long way, especially if you are a Gringo. They don't expect it from us. They
figure all Americans are rude, overbearing and demanding and they usually start from that position when dealing with us. Keep it in mind the next time
