Fresh Chickens in Todos Santos

CaboRon - 1-28-2008 at 12:08 PM

Does anyone have a line on fresh chickens and /or eggs in Todos Santos ..... Just got my new bbq and would love to try out that mesquite charcoal with a beautiful (preferably organic) chicken ....

The Secret Garden no longer has them due to the flakynesss of their provider.

I believe the store kitty corner to Lizarraga has organic chickens - they did last year.

Acuity,

I have been going thru El Calendario looking for a place called "Lizarrage" and can't find any mention of it. Is it maybe in Pescadero ?

Everything in the markets seems to be frozen...ugh !

Ron,
If you don't mind the drive to San Jose, I think Judy has some in her yard. Can't get them any fresher.
Of course there's a chance that Judy doesn't want to part with them :?::?:

down @ Eglin AFB in Florida they test aircraft canopys for bird strike suvivabilty by firing organic chickens from a cannon. the chickens are then consumed by the resident gator, but I could probably get someone to export a few in a F-18.

I checked it out today.... is a little Tienda and in their reefer they have fresh whole free range checkens (not frozen).

Thanks for your help. It was also reccommended to me by the chef at Hotel California when I asked him about it this morning.

In La Paz we have a lady that raises organic chicken for our restaurant, no hormones, no antibiotics, just good old grains and grass. If you like, send me a PM and i can get you in touch with her.

I bought one of the chickens from the little tienda last night and grilled it, Delicious and moist, a definate recomend.

Also James from the Secret Garden said he is going to be handling the organic checkens again .... not sure of the details yet, I think it will be something you order, much like their tamalies.
