The story we posted six years ago about Marisol Higuera, the deaf girl from the San Gregorio fishcamp, has an update available on the website:

Filming is nearing completion on "Hearing Everrett," the story of the Everett family, founders of Rancho Sordo Mudo (Deaf Mute) in the Guadalupe
Valley. The story of Marisol Higuera is featured in the film! Two small planes flew the film crew to La Purisima, and the filmmakers were able to
spend several days at the fish camp, filming daily life both on the water with Marisol's father and brother, and in the kitchen with her mother. A
movie trailer is now posted.

Stay tuned.

Rancho Sordo Mudo is a wonderful place to stop by and say "Hi" if you are in the area. Nice and peaceful.

"Hearing Everett" will be shown at film festivals across the country.
It is amazing to realize that a little deaf girl who grew up in isolation in a remote Baja California Sur fish camp for the first ten years of her
life, now has an education and communication skills, thanks to Rancho Sordo Mudo.
We are looking forward to the finished film!
