Blonde with long eyelashes

BMG - 2-2-2008 at 11:29 AM

Met this young one on the road. This blonde liked to get up close and personal.

Fortunately, our new friend stayed safely in the 'cow lane' on the shoulder and let us sneak by.

Jeezo.....

That's probably some kids pet and you guys are ready to cook and eat it.
Look....It even has an earring. I'll bet it sleeps at the foot of the bed.

The food chain...it isn't always pretty, but is always REAL.

Most Americans will never buy beef that doesn't have plastic skin and a barcode.

Reminds me of a walk through a mercado in Tepic on the mainland years ago. One stand had live chickens and what looked like an elongated Weber BBQ off to one side. While standing there, someone came up and bought a chicken. The seller turned on the "BBQ" and opened it up. I saw a plate with slots in it and rubber fingers rotating up through the slots rapidly. He grabbed the chicken, threw him him and slammed the lid. There was quite a bit of clucking and flapping going on inside which finally settled down while the seller collected his money. When he turned off the "BBQ", he opened it up and retrieved a very dead, plucked chicken.

There is something about the look on the face of the skinless wonder that haunts.

Wow...Rancho San Luis. I used to visit Jose and Lydia there 36 years ago. I would take them vegetable seeds and .22 ammunition for the little shortened single shot rifle they had.
When hiking out to the view of the desert below, Lydia would send her rifle with me in case we saw a jackrabbit.

I'll never forget, on my first visit, Lydia taking a little box off a shelf, it had treasure, several Byrillium crystals and half dozen .22 shells.

Life was very simple. The flys were so bad that several coffee cans of smoldering cow dung surrounded the casita.

I drank the water from the little spring. I should have just eaten cow dung, I probably would have been less sick!

That looks like the gully. Didn't have the dam then. Its a nice walk out to the view. You can see from Salton Sea to the SOC. We used to go there in small crowds of Yamaha Enduros. Good memories.
