We had a very nice meal here(no washed pasta!)
I had a salad pomodori...excellent, fresh tomatoes
and basil
Cabrilla...simply prepared with veggies
Jim had calamari with zuchs. Delicious. We even ate some of the zuchs.
Pizza had a delicious crisp crust but the sliced onion on a
Pepperoni pizza was strange. All in all a pretty good meal
$12 corkage.
La Mita
What I had was wonderful…sopa crema almejas
Jim ordered cabrilla empanizada and the chef insisted that he get it grilled with
sauce even though empanizada was on the menu. He hated it.
So I ate it!
El Rey
For our traditional taco de cabeza for breakfast…yummy
(We were too late for any eyeballs or tongue)
Chuco’s…..empanadas
De res….not too hot nor greasy
Frijol….sweet bean….I love this one.
Los Mandiles On Paula’s suggestions
We had a very good breakfast with fresh OJ, very reasonable.
Huevo rancheros
Huevo divorciados but they call it something like…”that thing you don’t

We also stayed at the RV park(200pesos) and the quietest night we spent up to

Jim had tacos dorados which had some sort of mystery meat inside
I had 2 queso tacos that were too much for me to eat.
SANTA ROSALITA
Tuxpan….This is that restaurant right on the highway with the spectacular view. I have
always wanted to stop there, so we did
Jim had chiles rellenos that were very good. They must have been I was
not offered a bite!
I had callos empanizada, good and lots of them
We were both pleasantly surprised at the service and the food
SAN IGNACIO

Cant say enough good things about the food that Terry puts out.
First night we had yellow tail that was by far the best I have ever had
She baked it cooking it perfectly (feeding over 20 people and getting
the fish cooked perfect is quite a feat!) also on the menu were an oriental
salad and pasta with garlic and carrots that was to die for. Dessert was date
pie and lemon meringue pie. Both excellent but the date was fabulous. We
fought over the last piece
Both breakfasts were very good with the homemade bread and jams a
highlight
Second night we had chicken breast stuffed with zucchini and cheese,
coated in crackers crumbs, baked and topped with hollandaise sauce and a
vegetable medley. Caesar’s salad I know that there was something else but
I cant remember what. Dessert this night was date cake, also fabulous.
If you find yourself in San Ignacio, whether you are staying at the yurts
or not, I strongly recommend that you make ressies for dinner here.
GUERRERO NEGRO
Malarrimo…always good and this night was no exception. I had sopa de mariscos
Jim had shrimp empanizada. When his plate came he said that he would
never be able to eat all the shrimp but surprise, surprise, he did.
Lulu’s …..I think that is the name. this is one of those side of the road places on the right
going into town. We had huevo rancheros that were just the way I like them
with nice crispy tortillas under the eggs and a fresh made ranchero.
CUIDAD DE CONSTITUCION
Leys for an 8 piece fried chicken box….not at all greasy and the best
cole slaw ever…
El Palenque...birria place just across from Leys...
I had birria seca and made several tacos with the meat
Jim had birria with the consome and ate the whole bowl
They had hand made tortillas that were soooooooo good.
LA PAZ
Las Tres Virgenes…Probably one of the best meals I have ever had in Baja

Jim and I split a spinach salad…yummy
I had only appetizers…sashimi…to die for
baby octopus…couldn’t eat them all
Jim had lamb shank and it was enough for at least 2 people
maybe 3
I had flan for dessert and jim had bananas which weren’t as good
as he had hoped for but not bad.
Milano……Another wonderful meal
Once again we split a salad…organic greens
with cheese, nuts and pears
I had lobster ravioli
Jim had the rib eye steak which once again was enough for 2 or
3 people….made the dogs very happy.
We split a tiramisu that was the best I have ever had. I very
seldom order this dessert because I am usually disappointed.
This one was excellent. Beautiful and freshly made. I believe
that the server said that it had been made that day.
El Carrito
Jim had two fish tacos
I had a chica sopa de mariscos
The problem here was the tortillas. They were not fresh. The ones in
warmer for me were over microwaved to the point of falling apart.
Club Marlin…..As good as I remember.
Always good to see Charly, the lady who has worked there for years.
They still give you way too much food
Nice bottle of Mexican wine for 200 pesos
The steaks are still 120 pesos…how does she do that?

I forgot
We had breakfast two mornings at the coffee shop at El Moro
The coffees and fresh squeezed OJ are top shelf and the food is OK. I just cant figure out why it takes them 30 minutes to prepare 2 orders when you
are the only 2 people in there. I had waffles one morning and ham and cheese omelet; both were good although the waffles could have been hotter. Jim

I really enjoyed your report. We too ate at Las Tres Virgenes in La Paz. I too had the Lamb Shank, and Paula had the Short Ribs. Both were
delicious. A very attractive restaurant also.
Do take food photos to share. I'll leave you with one from Mallarimo. (Clams and Mano de Leon scallops)

We second that motion!! Just returned from 4 days there and elected not to even try another restaurant (that's not like us!). Breakfast is included
if you're staying there, if not it's 70 pesos (and well worth it - you won't leave hungry!!!), dinner I think runs about $15 USD and again, well worth

The dish was actually called hosed down pasta, but Don Alley didn't give it the name. They seem to have taken it off the menu, and they are using a

Yes, I think the sauce has mellowed somewhat. Maybe all that simmering did it good.
