Not my idea of fun, but Ana had a great time shopping and looking.
I decided to sneak off and take a few photos.
Anyone know what these old ruins once were?
I'm thinking of repainting my truck now after seeing this beauty.
One last Todos Santos photo.
Oh yeah, she bought this sun that I hung today.

Is the pink truck Mary Kay on Crack?
Great pics, thanks

A truck that color would be perfect for showing off your BajaNomad sticker:
Not too bad. And it hides that little body ding.

I think the ruins are the old sugar cane mill. Sugar cane used to be the big export and it was shipped out of the old port south of town.Acuity - 2-7-2008 at 07:41 AM
They are indeed one of the , I believe , 12 sugar cane mills.DianaT - 2-7-2008 at 10:04 AM
Nice, very nice pictures---thanks for sharing them.
Curious, was the art festival just local artists? Do you have any detailed photos of what they were selling?
I like the sun you bought---it is a little different than most and if that is your home, wow, I LOVE the color.

I diligently walked both rows of the festival and inspected all the booths in the 5 minutes it took me to me to complete the task. Ana took a bit
longer. It looked like a mix to me, some local artsy stuff and a bunch of the same old junk you see in all the tourist stores. I did like one guys
carved stones set up next to the church. I can't believe I didn't take some photos of the pieces as they were very impressive. We also found the sun
which we liked. It is hanging now on the front wall separating our house from the street. Ana picked the house colors but I do like them too.
Here are a couple more pics of the festival. Not really detailed though. Really not that many booths.

BMG Thanks for the pictures.Maybe they should have turned that cane
juice into rum? Those can mills might still be running.Acuity - 2-7-2008 at 07:32 PM
Unfortuately, artists who are not Mexican citizens are not allowed to participate. So the volume of art is significantly reduced from the old days,
when it was open to all (like Los Barriles).
