Does the Sea of Cortez have any decent crabs to fish for? I was thinking about taking my Dung crab traps down to my house in Loreto.
I know Lobster are off limit.

Calms are illegal but commonly taken. That could change, so you take your chances. Enforcement in general seems more common and more by the book in

Ask the guys from California who were camped at Juncalito and got caught by the National Park rangers with some purple lipped scallops and a couple of
lobster. Ended up paying about $1500 US for that little excursion.
On the other hand we were told by Pesca that it was legal for us to catch squid for the Governer's Cup Tournament at Santa Rosalia on a sport
fishing license.

Since Dungeness are the best crabs in the world, why bother, you got the best at home and those nets are cumbersome.
Now speaking of seafood, if you have not yet tried the Lion Paw Scallop cooked in butter and garlic, you have a taste treat coming to you.

Thanks for the response. Will leave the traps at home..... The Loreto Profepa folks are my friends and they come by the house quite often for a cup
of coffee or a beer.
