Well, It looks like I am about to wrap up another book on Baja that I said I would never write. I suppose that some will say that I have not really
written it and that will be okay—but please just remember that “Bernie Talkin Baja” is my way of saying thank you to all of you who have shared this
board with me and allowed me to ramble and wander, seeking—I am really not sure what.
I do know that I have found more friends than one guy should be allowed and I hope to keep adding to these wonderful folks who have shared their love
of Baja with me.
Here are a few of my most silly and random thoughts that I have reached up and snagged over the years. I do hope they pluck a string in your hearts
and that they have some impact on how you look at this world we share.
Life is a wilderness of twists and turns, so tell me what is the compass that sees you through this maze.
Remember, Civilization begins at the end of a dirt road.
Baja Is About Friends Helping Friends.
True passion is tempered by much thought, honed by our life experiences, and kept warm by shared friendships.
“I am always on the way to being.”
First we must seek to be understand and only they can we speak in hopes of being understood.
My smidgen of a claim to fame is that I have had so many really good friends.

I chose to be an optimist even as I struggle to find the truth and understand why my Lady was taken from me—I have just realized that the most
terrible thing about losing a spouse is that you can no longer share.—
AND you have all helped me in this struggle—and I thank each of you.
Friendship—much like a pot of glue—rather messy but it does bind good folks together in a circle of understanding and caring and over the years others
become attracted and bound to the whole.
Like I said before this little thank you will be available to all of the Baja Nomads who wish a copy by merely showing up at the Pyramid resort on May

It's on the coast north of La Mission, very visible from the toll road. I know you've seen it a thousand times, Bob. The only pyramid in the world

Oh, yeah I've seen that structure but just thought it was some Mayan or Inca ruin. Pretty small for a resort unless it's just the entryway to an

The resort is on the other side of the pyramid... which is not part of the resort, at all... Just a landmark... and it is not ancient! Built in the
early 70's.
Actually David The Pyramid Resort only had 11 units

when Mike and I arrived in 1996. We now have 40 units open. The first 10 units were built in late eighties or very early 90s

I went last year and it is not to be missed! Everyone that I met there was really nice and I had a great time. I didn't want to leave.
It's a nice party.

I did have a slightly difficult time finding it. The Pyramid was the only thing there for a while. Now it's a little buried by all the other

Keri... I didn't know about the resort until you came to Viva Baja 4, when we met... The small pyramid is what I remember as a landmark from perhaps
the 70's after the toll road was built...

Great news!
Put me down for an early copy!! In fact several copies.
As to Pyramid Resort.
Right after it was built the local rumour had it that this was actually built to hide some of the vents for the water pipes going North from La Mision
Valley to TJ.
Never knew if this were true, or not, but it made a good story.
Anyone out there ever hear this?

It is just a giant water tank that someone wanted to hide.
Used to love watching the crazies scrambling up the sides so they could have their picture taken on a 'real' Mayan Pyramid.
The books are free and only one to each Nomad............Folks can buy extra copies for $20,00 a piece on the day of the signing only. Oops free ones

No! You know me better than that--I hate to say bad things about folks--I will admit that a few of the folks have drawn negative word pictures of
themselves--but I did not help them.
That was a cute play on Don Jimmy's book---remember I still sell copies for his widow.
