Water Temperatures In San Quintin?

Festus - 2-22-2008 at 01:07 PM

Going to San Quintin over Spring Break. Do the kids need wet suits?

Checking the map on www.eebmike.com, it looks like they might be not much higher that 60. The map doesn't go all the way up there.

Basically same climate as San Diego. This time of year we all wear a 3 mil full suit. A hoody wouldn't hurt either.
My guess is you would need to get south near the tropics(La Paz) for warm water now.

The water is always colder down in northern Baja than it is in SD area, wetsuit is a must and maybe booties.

COLDER THEN SD

We always camp at Pabellon at least once in the summer and have for over 25 years, the water is always cold, especially when the north wind kicks up.

We're heading down this summer with our Wave Runners to explore the bay(s) and circle the island, probably July 4th week.
