Here's a shot of a bee pollinating a red flower in Baja - anyone know the species of flower? Location: Bahia de los Angeles ... :bounce:

Don't know the scientific, but I believe it's called chuparosa as it attracts hummingbirds.

Looks like toji (mistletoe.) Could your shot have been taken of a parasite on another plant? Torote? It is also called chupones. Phyrygilanthus sonorae. See pp222 of Roberts BC Plant Field Guide.

Yup - mistletoe alright... Thanks! 'Chupones' or 'Toji'. I posted the shot from my laptop at work and did not have my guide with me. I thought I remembered it being a huge plant, but tonight I found the other shots that shows it's part - growing on - another tree. And we did see a hummer too - Tubular flowers and hummers ... :bounce:
