man it looks like a great place.
is it by chance the Larry and Raquel's motel? picture reminds me of it but i have never stayed there either.
it reminds me of a high end PSFO as far as accomodations go.
3 x the $$ but 10 x the amenities.

so looking for a review here.
its just off the dirt Xwind RW, very convenient and only 2 air hours from PHX.

Just as an aside. We were in BoLA last week on the way from San Francisquito back to Pta Bufeo and were surprised at the lack of folks in town. Our friends and we were the only ones at Guillermo's for lunch. We did a bit of grocery shopping, topped up the gas tanks, aired-up and continued on our way. The town was so quiet it was rather spooky.

The folks at Guillermo's told us that tourism is way down.

Mike, the owner (Roger) was at last year's Mexico Expo with a booth to promote Villa Bahia. If you read Graham Mackintosh's story about living out on Angel Island http://grahammackintosh.com you will hear about Villa Bahia and how accomodating they were to Graham as he waited to get out to the island. Here is the page with a photo at Villa Bahia and the contact information for it: http://grahammackintosh.com/events.html
Here's that photo:

Yeah, we were camping at Guillermo's for a couple of days last October - and man it was quiet. Hardly anyone around. We were the only ones there. Just before we left some guys with a boat showed up to go fishing and we left the next day. It was very quiet all over Baja during that trip (as far south as Mulege we went).

Spent one night there on my way back north last May. To be very fair to you and the owners I really can't give a review. Pulled in about 9:00 at night and back on the road about 7:00 the next morning. (Sister's first trip to Baja and I couldn't take her up and down the whole peninsula without her at least seeing BoLA since she pretty much lives to kayak) . The owners were very friendly and it looked like an interesting and friendly place I could spend some time at but to be honest I seem to remember it seemed very over priced at the time, which I think was about $85/night but please don't quote me and contact them direct.

whatever happened to Vientos de la something or ruther about the same location. owner was from TJ and flew a piper 6 in a lot from Brown field.
was about $100 a nite but had pool jacuzz etc, seemed to be in various stages of construction all the time - verging on a grand opening but never there.
well, is it "there" yet??
the last place i stayed at in town was a rip at $65. i forget the name, its one of the so called airconditioned places...........yeah, right.
sevice was indifferent and food was boring.
villa del sol? casa del sol? maybe that was it.
we were in the middle of a whales trip out of SD. stayed a nite before heading to San Ignacio. i won't be there again. met some fun bikers from Canada tho.

I'm curious, where have you stayed on the peninsula at a similar price that you wouldn't consider a "rip"?

the problem was the attitude of the owner, we were one of 2 groups she had, so she wasn't stretched - yet the service was totally lacking. if she would have extended gracious hospitality the $65 would have been fine. She was friendly, just to the point of cordial - just did nothing to accentuate our stay. We asked for drinks - she said ok, i'll open the bar. then her daughter came in and said she didn't know how to make drinks - it got worse from there.....
that was maybe 4 years ago if not 5 or 6. at the time i could get great deals at $60 - $65 at mulege, San Quintin, loreto, san felipe, ensenada, rosarito, la paz.
i'll give you that all those towns have better access to services making it easier - my problem is i come to mexico for the generally overwhelming attitude in the people to welcome you and give you their all. that's what drives my reasons for contributing to charities through Flying Sams and Rotary.
