Probably a long shot, but does anybody know if the LBMaps Expeditioner (the one with Baja topo) will work in the new Garmin 400t GPS units?
Larry is currently in Baja until the 20th, and Clara, the woman who answers the phone, does not know.

It uses Mapsource to load the maps to the unit so if the 400t also uses Mapsource it should work.

Looks like it, since they sell MapSource CDs for it. LBMaps is in MapSource format.

That's what I thought.
But on the MapSource page, it does not list the 400t as a 'compatible' GPS unit. It only lists the other Colorado units. This is probably because the
400t apparently already has all the USA MapSource topos preloaded.
Therefore, the reason for the question.
If the MapSource maps are preloaded, do you need a new MapSource program to run LBMaps, Or, does a MapSource Program come with the unit?
If the USA topo maps are preloaded, can you even communicate between the 400t and a MapSource Program on a PC?...Or will it only communicate with the
Trip And Waypoint Manager Program?
I love the program on my 76CSx; and my sister wants to get the latest and greatest GPS unit. I highly recommended LBMaps, I just need to figure out
if it will work for her…..

Heard back from Larry.
LBMaps (Expeditioner or Navigator) will work on the Garmin 400t, but as will all his maps, you do need a MapSource Topo program to transfer the Baja
Maps to the unit.

A question for people that own both: what is difference between "Navigator"
and "Expeditioner" maps sold by LBMaps? Do they show same set of roads, or different roads? Which has better list of embedded geographic place
names? (their website is not too informative, so looking for someone who has used both maps)

The Navigator is more for people who stay on paved roads, it should have correct names for all city streets. May not have some un-named off-road
roads
The Expeditioner is more for people who like to drive and hike off the beaten path. It has elevation lines, and many dirt tracks and trails, but may
not have the name of many city streets, especially out of the way towns. The Expeditioner also has "auto-routing" now, which the Navigator does not
have, yet.
