Attention diesel engine owners

A friend of mine sent me this link concerning the lubricity properties of the new ULSD diesel. This post from a diesel board contends that, while fuel mfgrs are supposedly to be religiously adding additives to replace the lubricity of higher sulphur content, tests have shown them to be lacking in many instances.

This article tests some of the more popular after market additives for diesel fuel in terms of how they might reduce engine and engine component wear.

For your perusal................interesting that a 2% mix of biodiesel blows most everything else away.

In terms of readily available products at a decent price point, simple 2-stroke oil did quite well. Stanadyne and a Lucas Oil additive, supposedly two Holy Grail diesel products (by reputation, at least) did quite poorly.
