Yep, a plane.
Otherwise you take a number of buses to the ferry in Mazatlan - to La Paz.
Makes for a very long trip.

Try Interjet. They fly out of Toluca which is just outside of Mexico City but almost always cheaper than the big boys. If you shop around and are
flexible, I found a fare of $1,137 which is about 700 or 800 pesos cheaper for one way from Mex city.

only way to go is to fly, unless you are in for a week or two bus 'n ferry 'adventure' (in the heat, no less)
why don't you define what 'best'neabs to you so people can be more helpful

Why not take the bus? They have a bus line called "TAP" I think that goes up to T.J. by mainland. The bus has bathroom on board, t.v., music, and
not cramped. I think it takes about 26 hours though but costs way less than a plane and you can meet and talk to others that are usually full of all
kinds of information. Bus stops for food, fuel, and you can also see the country side on your way down. Just a thought, you could also go over to
ferry on this bus line and go into La Paz and get another bus that is similar to "TAP" service. Go online and get the bus schedules of these better
travel/tourist bus lines for a better trip. They have two drivers onboard to trade of the driving duties. Just a thought and I am sure others may
know the correct name of the bus line if I have a put the wrong one. Later---bajafun777
