I am driving down to Loreto in June (with a 22" boat) to do some fishing and relaxing. Went to Mulege last year (without the boat) and had absolulely
no problems. Does anyone have any advice as far as road conditions, places to stay along the way and security for my family and property?

larry,
Seeing you are from the same country we live in [Norte Cal. Foothills] with a little bit slower pace, Drive a safe speed. Pulled a 24' boat down
last year and did not get in a hurry...The road as you know is not wide enough to make adjustments at speed. Take your time and try to enjoy the
seights.. martin-o

Boating in Loreto

larry,
There is one place to launch in Loreto and that is the Marina on the malicone...A very busy spot before sun up..You will have to park your truck in
front on the street. Place to stay with room for your boat would be La Pinta just to the north of the marina. An option would be 18 miles south at
Puerto Escondido. A very much better ramp with one third the trafic.Gated and someone there all day wathcing the parking lot...You have the Tripui
park for dinner, store, laundry, bar, and rooms to rent for $45.00 with air conditioning.... Watch this web site for the best info you could have..Ask
questions... marty

I read elsewhere that the ramp was damaged by huricanne Marty and was not in good shape. The recommendation was to use Puerto Escondido.
Any comments.

Larry,
Stay at the Villas de Loreto. There is no better place.
Anchor your boat right in front so you don't have to launch it every day. Just use a heavy chain at least as long as the boat.
Your truck and trailer will be at the hotel.
After fishing all day, swim in the great pool and just relax.
The Loreto ramp is good enough.
