Can anyone recommend a source(s) for Auto Body, Paint, Upholstery shop(s) in Tijuana?
Thanks!

Just got back from Tijuana...

...and had my 89 Bronco painted and some upholstry work done...

I had the Bronco painted at 'Delta Body shop'...they did an OK TJ paint job. I had them do some body repair as well, and they were very good at that. I only had about three days, and I kind of rushed them, so the final clear coat of the paint job was rushed, and had a few runs in it. When I came back from Baja sur in about 15 days, they fixed it for me and waxed the whole car!

They ran me over to another shop for the upholstry work, where they removed the seats and the headliner to be installed later when the paint was done...worked Ok, but I didn't want anything really that special.

The body shop offered two 'grades' of paint, and I went with the better grade which included the clear coat finish. The paint finish was good...if you're looking for something for a show car, TJ probably isn't the place to go! If you want a nice paint job for an older car, it's fine.

The body work guy at Delta takes great pains to get the metal as straight as possible before applying the body filler so that you don't end up with large, thick globs of the stuff, as some of the 'quickie' shops do. I watched him in action, and he knows his stuff. I had some folded sheet metal on one side, and he did a great repair job!

Delta is located on Ave. Sirak Baldyan, near the Mercado Pescado area (6th street) , and is between 5th and 6th streets, one block above Ocampo ave., towards the Costco store.

I stayed at the Hotel America on 4th street, about a block and 1/2 away, and close to Ave Revolution. The place has three new computers hooked to the internet at no cost to guests, and the place has a courtyard to park in for security. Basic, older, clean rooms, about $40 a night.

u2u me if you have any additional questions....

Here's a 'Before' and 'After' shot of the Bronco...and a shot of the 'Green' of Northern Baja, on my way south to Mulege a couple of weeks ago...CLICK on an image to ENLARGE...THEN you can also CLICK on the new pop-up image and see the 'real' detail of my ORIGINAL shot!

i've painted ALOT of cars in the past and i saw mexrays

it was an excellent job for the price

the panels were flat MOST IMPORTANT to me

there was a few runs in the "clear coat" but those are easily sanded and "rubbed out" later
which they did for mexray

i'd paint a car there...
