the DRO

hello all,
Well this year I guess the government wants a DRO to sign on as having the responsibilty that your casa is built according to the plans you submitted. Kind of like our "building inspectors" at home. Maybe they think there is less room for corruption w/an individual vs a gov. job inspector. It is easy if you use your archititect /builder combo. But..those of us that have our plans and permits (what a nightmare!!@!) finding a DRO. By the way a DRO is an engineer that will sign as being responsible for the building of your house according to the engineering plans. Also... has anyone heard of the enviromental report as being waved???? I have heard that a sme people on the eastcape, south of the cabo pulmo marine park boundaries, having the enviromental report waved.Quite a bit of legwork in la paz. I realize this question is a bit disjointed but.... I thought building in California was tough , that was nothing but a primer,
any input would be greatly appreciated.

I owe the people of baja nomad a reservoir of tequila.

what part of the world are you talking about??

Sorry, this is in he eastcape, south of cabo pulmo. I was wondering if anyone that is starting to build this year is needing to find a DRO or engineer to sign off on the work being done. I was told by my architect that this is a new rule this year, because of some plans/engineering not being followed. I can't imagine it is being enforced for the local mexicans, it would just be one more cost. It is probably more of a hassle for those using a smaller builder. This is all new for 2008.
