Does anyone know any way to get mail out of Baja quickly? Everyone I've asked says it takes 6-8 weeks to mail anything to the States?
We're near Cabo, and my camera, lens and flash took a swim in the Ocean yesterday
I need to mail it back to Canon as soon as possible so when we return to the states it will be waiting for me cleaned and working
properly.
Havent gotten to Cabo yet, but just wondering if there is anywhere there that could overnight a package?

Emam,
If it was my camera and I wanted to see it again, I would find a courier like DHL and insure it as well when I sent it. Mailing a wet camera even
stateside is likely not a good idea

Postcards I have sent from Baja never made it home....

Option 1.
Courier business (DHL, etc.)
Option 2.
Know any pilots? Private planes? We have been using this method for 35 years at the Serinadad Hotel airstrip in Mulege with nary a misshap. There
is a basket set out near the office for just this purpose. Usually letters, etc., but a small package should not be a problem if you wrap and address
with proper postage or payment.
Option 3.
Try your local VHF radio daily announcements..such as in Mulege and elsewhere. These programs usually have a 'Who's going north to carry mail?'
feature. Always a good source of communication and information.
Good luck.

DHL has offices in San Lucas, maybe even San Jose by now.

I hope it wasn't a digital camera. Isn't there somebody in La Paz who can attend to your dilema? Dry it and stabilize it at least until you can get
it to the shop?

One of our friends normally have someone visiting. I would send it back on the plane with one of them and have them mail it for me in the U.S. Good
Luck.

I've sent and received packages while staying at the Vag's RV Park in Cabo through FedEx. They have delivery/pickup service right to your door.
As to the camera, my Canon Digital Rebel got wet at Niagara Falls, and when I talked to the service guys, they said that if it had been immersed in
salt water I should have flushed it out with distilled water as soon as possible. Since it was fresh water, they told me to just dry it out and send
it in. They got it working (and updated the software) and sent it back.
Oh, make sure you take the batteries out of it.
