Jesse Ventura, potential Nomad?

DanO - 4-2-2008 at 11:14 AM

Who knew? Apparently, former Navy UDT, pro wrestler and Minn. gov. Jesse Ventura is a half-time Baja resident.

Hook - 4-2-2008 at 11:25 AM

Someone reported a Jesse Ventura sighting on the board a couple months back. At the time, I believe they thought it was just someone who looked alot like him. Believe it was near the cape.

Guess he/she was right........

DonBaja - 4-2-2008 at 11:28 AM

"The Body" is still "young enough to need another adventure" Baja certainly offer's plenty of adventure. That's why I like going there

bajajudy - 4-2-2008 at 11:47 AM

I have seen him twice in Los Barriles. I believe that he has a house north of town.

Go Jesse Go

Did anyone catch him on Larry King last night? Said all the right things. I'd vote for him as VP.

I saw it. He was looking a little shaggy but, he probably cleans up well. He's still got attitude. Maybe he's the "change" everybody is talking about. Why not?

I saw him last night. It looked like he was having tremors. Could be a legacy of steroid use. Considering the other effects of prior steroid use, a ticket of Jessie and McCainiac could be *************** :wow:

Diver - 4-2-2008 at 12:25 PM

I would vote for Jesse in a second if placed against any of the current candidtates !!

unfortunately that would only take care of one side of the religious scourge. They all must go and will go, but evolution is a slooow process.

Paulina - 4-2-2008 at 01:30 PM

He'd have to give up saying, "THE Baja" to get my vote.

capt. mike - 4-2-2008 at 01:44 PM

Hey El Capitan,

You mean, "Back to THE desk job..." don't you?

Hope you had a restful break.

DENNIS - 4-2-2008 at 01:59 PM

The only place I can think of that should be preceded with a "The" is the bathroom.

Fishing on the Baja!

bajamigo - 4-2-2008 at 03:30 PM

This is a the name of a thread in another forum. Is Baja a river?

Gawd I hate that! My cousins were down from Vancouver a couple of weeks ago and we spent a week at my beach house.

They kept calling Baja "the Baja", so I called Canada "the Canada".

And whats with "eh?"

bigboy - 4-2-2008 at 04:26 PM

His place is across the street from my property on the east cape. His house may be off the grid but it certainly isn't a humble house. It looks to be about 4000 square feet with a beautiful courtyard and pool.
I know a few people down there that hang with him and his wife and they all say he is a cool guy.

Wiles - 4-2-2008 at 04:37 PM

'the Baja' is located in 'Old Mexico'

no, er i mean yes!

Festus - 4-2-2008 at 05:17 PM

I lived in Minnesota when The Body (not The Baja) was governor. I'm sure he is a lot of fun when sharing a beer but I wouldn't want to see him in public office again. He was a nut job.

bajaguy - 4-2-2008 at 05:26 PM

A nut job?????.....He would fit in great on the Nomads board

DanO - 4-2-2008 at 06:12 PM

As Groucho once said, "I resent that remark. I don't deny it, but I do resent it."

Pescador - 4-3-2008 at 08:47 PM

From what I have seen so far in the elections a nut job will fit right in. Shoot, he might even ask Garrison Keiler to be his campaign manager.:no:;D

AcuDoc - 4-3-2008 at 09:27 PM

Barack-n-Roll

hi ya jim

A real nut job--belongs down south !

Saw a clip of him talking about 9-11. He seems to have joined the conspiracy loons .

Are you sure it was Jesse? He tends to blend in with the crowd.

Keri - 4-7-2008 at 08:04 PM

He looked terrible.Had long greasy brown hair. Said he lived in Baja now. k:?:

Iflyfish - 4-7-2008 at 08:10 PM

See:
www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/bushswar/ for an in depth analysis of the issue of wmd and iraq II. More chilling than Venura's rant.

Packoderm - 4-9-2008 at 04:45 PM

If he was a Nomad, you'd think that he would frequent the Off-Topic section.

oladulce - 4-9-2008 at 07:44 PM

I saw an interview with him last night and he explained the new hair-doo is his "surfer look" . Says he's taken up the sport and his main goal in life nowadays is to ride a wave with his hero Laird Hamilton, or to go down trying.

Si seņor.

Pretty lofty goal since Mr Ventura admits he's a newcomer to the sport.

Ken Cooke - 4-14-2008 at 08:03 PM

I have been living without Cable TV for 5 years. Who the heck is Lou Dobbs?

DENNIS - 4-14-2008 at 08:14 PM

Lou Dobbs has a show on CNN. He used to be a financial columnist but, has changed his focus to politics and championing the Independent Party. Some people find him hard to take but, I think he makes lots of sense.
I'll let you do the research, Ken. He has a new book out.

Ken Cooke - 4-14-2008 at 08:18 PM

No worries. If I had cable news network, I probably wouldn't bother worrying about his opinions.

Jesse has a new book out too. Dick Russell of "Eye of the Whale" fame has written a book about interviews with Jesse. They met at the Crossroads Country Club on the east cape. I cant remember the name of it but will ask jim and post it later.

edit to add
"Don't Start the Revolution Without Me" is the title

Wow, interesting to see him in this 2006 interview since his Governor days... he always had strong opinions and sometimes they make sense. He seems a bit strung out during parts of this clip - maybe from steriod use, don't know. I didn't know that he has studied the Kennedy assasination events for over 25 years and that he was a teacher at Harvard at one point. WOW.

DENNIS - 4-15-2008 at 07:56 AM

I know a few people who, had they walked through the Harvard campus, would have told people for the rest of their lives that they went to Harvard.

good one, grover:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Gadget - 4-15-2008 at 11:48 AM

I retract my previous comments. I had read some pretty good opinions of him initially as Governor, but never really followed his career much otherwise.
Seems like he may have gone off what he thought was the deep end and hit his head currently.

"Harvard Fellow" I love it!:lol::lol: Good move Gadget.

"He just didn't realize that wrestling is real and politics is fixed."
-Kinky Freidman

There is a picture of Kinky and Jesse in Kinky's latest book You can lead a politician to water but you can't make him think. Jesse's campaign manager, Dean Barkley, became Kinky's. Now a senator, Barkley was appointed by Jesse to fill out the term of the late Paul Wellstone.

Just a reply to the "The Thing" When we talk about say Vancouver Island we dont say "The Vancouver Island" We say "The Island" When we talk about "Baja California" we don't say "the Baja California" we say "The Baja" When talking about New York we don't say "The New York " we say
