Being from Iowa and just getting into the saltwater thing I was wondering the difference if there is any between these two. I started reading some
mags that only mention the Yellowfin. Is a yellowtail actually a tuna? Seems the the yellowfin grow to be a lot bigger also. Thanks for the info.

Big difference. Yellowfin is a tuna, yellowtail is a jack.
