Sad story Hose and one that we hear too often. It is truely unfortunate that there are really people in the world who lack conscience and who could do
such a thing. Shame!, a real shame.

I've been going there for years as well, mostly for watch batterys. As you say, they are really nice folks.

Ugh, sickening. I'm sorry for the store owner and his family. They've had a lot of grief as it is.

I remember when we were in the process of moving to Ensenada that we asked our Mexican friends if we would be targeted because we were gringos. They
told us flat out, "don't worry, they'll rob whoever they can". How true. How very true. Our house that we rented for two years in Valle Dorado was
robbed twice - in five days. But we never considered ourselves singled out. Anyone and everyone was a target. A friend of ours (also a Mexicano)
is a former drug dealer (who is now a doctor!) and he told us not to take it personally - when he was dealing drugs it was just part of his "job" to
rob houses so that he could support his habit. This is, unfortunately, what happens when corruption runs so deep. The dear honest people of Mexico
are being "robbed" on a daily basis by their government as the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. When I've made this statement in the past, I
have seen how misunderstood I've been. People in the US try to compare this corruption to our government. I'm sorry, but we have no idea what the
citizens of Mexico have gone through. None whatsoever.
