shari - 4-19-2008 at 05:14 PM

So miracle DO happen and Manolo can attest to that!We are all so excited to receive news that Manolo has been released from hospital yesterday and is resting at his son's house in La Paz, much sooner than anyone would have expected....he will stay there for 2 weeks and receive outpatient treatment before he can come home. Thanks again all of you who helped with your prayers, funds and energy. Manolo's family and friends send warm regards and deep appreciation.

I just spoke to Manolo on the phone...Oh my word, I never thought I would hear his voice again...such a wonderful relief he will return to us once again soon.

Nomads Rock!! This is wonderful news indeed. Just the sort of good will effort that tends to cement positive feeling between village people and Nomads who live there Nomads who visit them.

My hat is off to all the generous people on this site who took their time, energy and resources to support this wonderful family. Salud!

Yes mrfish...you are right on about fostering goodwill among races here. As Asuncion is only beginning to welcome tourists here, there is a nice feeling in the community so far and I am glad that many of you who have decided to put roots down here have been generous, kind, understanding, tolerant and try to fit into the village by participating in local events, clubs etc. This way we hope to grow in a positive, caring way....embracing other cultures.

Wonderful, generous and open Nomads there for sure. I love the warmth and caring shown us while we were there. Lupita did our laundry and I swear that all of the colors were brighter then when the items were new! And the ironing!!! My grandmother never ironed on Sat Night like this lady. Oh, did I mention her cooking!!! Spotless kitchen and a way with food!!! Oh, my, what am I doing in Beaverton, Oregon.....that's right, I'm recovering from surgery right now....don't tell me about swims in the cove..or sunsets and marguites on the veranda.....

Suck up those fresh abalone, there is not jealousy here.....no jealou....I will not lie, I will not lie. I will not...jealousy...darn....wish I was there. Don't tell me about the sunset, ok, enough.....fresh abalone....grrrrr. It is snowing off and on here today....not kidding, may lose much of fruit crop in the gorge. Get out while you can Diver....flee....head SOUTH!

thank God!!!
and thank's nomads!

no doubt we are lucky to be a part of this group of amazing people...

I'm very glad to read all this.

And I am hoping that the recovery will total and complete.

I heard the news a little earlier, but its good to see it in writing. We are so happy for him and his family and the great contribution made by the nomads. Definately makes me proud to hopefully be considered a Nomad.
The nice part about Bahia Asuncion is how everybody gets along and its our job to be very gracious guests whenever we are down there. We can make a difference in this town and it can remain our little retreat because of the way that Nomads respect the real full time residents and each other.
I am proud of everyone and can't wait to get back down to our Mexican family.
