The first couple of miles of the road were paved, but they are currently bypassed by a detour up the arroyo. These paved miles are over relatively easy terrain. The rest is unpaved but in good shape for any vehicle.

Friday our esteemed Governor was in town, an reiterated his desire to pave the entire way. Along the way, winding up some of the more extreme switchbacks, we frequently thought, "Good luck with that!"

I thought it was funny that you included the oops stumbled and fell picture.

I like the olive tree. It really does look old ... in a human sort of way. Gramps used to look that way to me when I was 7.

Love San Javier and really enjoyed your pictures.

My favorite is also the old olive tree----looks like it could be in Sleepy Hollow.

Thanks
