April 27 Maneadero fire

bajadock - 4-27-2008 at 06:00 PM

From hills approx 1 mile east of hwy 1/La Buf Rd in Maneadero. Hope that its fuel runs out. Reminds me of last October fire, which started several miles south.

I advised BajaGuy that w/nw winds are moving it and huge clouds away from Baja Country Club.

awful

from our vantage point; it looks to be behind the hills of the BCC. Bajaguy, your place is safe!

thank god the wind did not blow hard today.

Obvious that my "hot" dinner date is only a view to east of the flames near Maneadero. Center is exactly east of hwy1/La Buf Rd. Estimating band of flames spread 1/2 mile to 1 mile from north to south.

Yes, Bruce, calm now so hope it flames out for the sake of our Maneadero friends.

bajadock the wind has shifted but is still very light. the smoke is now settling right in down town Ensenada and carrying out to sea to the north west.

And I'm afraid we have more to come too.

The flames along the ridge stretched for miles for a while. It was a spectacular, scary sight after the sun went down. There had to be some property damage with a fire this size. I have no reason to think it's out.

El Vigia reports there were 2 forest fires in the Maneadero area, one fire in Valle Dorado (where Beachbum1a and Lizard Lips live) and another in Bajamar.

Fire is kicking up with the high winds. Maneadero is asking for assistance from the Punta Banda Volunteer Fire Dept.
