From the photos looks like a nicely designed home. Especially nice work with the kitchen counters.

Very nice looking house.
Good luck

capt. mike - 5-9-2008 at 03:35 PM

details please, it looks brand new, is it?
lot hold circumstances? leased or? size?
you couldn't build that for $50K so the price must be in USA $$s.
total footage?

what's with the raised lip offset on the one bath vanity counter? and key way floating joint? that's a funny exposed edge on the raised portion.

that will be a very desirable casa for some lucky resident. all that town needs is to have it's old airport running again.

maybe Juanyjuan will tell us more.

If the views are selling points, let's see some of them! And about the hog farm next door,

joel - 5-13-2008 at 05:11 PM

The finishes are amazing for San Juanico. I do agree, the house would benefit from being on more than one lot. Of course, it is a house already built (apparently quite thoughtfully) and that is worth quite a bit.

Mexitron - 5-13-2008 at 05:31 PM

Wow, has housing gone up that much at Pequena? Nice house , but...

vgabndo - 5-13-2008 at 06:06 PM

When we were there in March, all the buzz was that Scorpion Bay was in great flux due to land titles and such.

Get a lawyer, rob a bank, buy the place, enjoy the views.

BajaTrooper - 5-14-2008 at 09:05 AM

Very nicely done.

805gregg - 5-14-2008 at 09:38 AM

The lots in that area are large, like a couple of acres or mex equivalent. Why are you selling?

joel - 5-14-2008 at 09:48 AM

Greg,

You are thinking of the lots out on the point. This is a town lot on Gringo Hill. It would be in the 30 by 40 meters range.

capt. mike - 5-14-2008 at 10:47 AM

30 x 40 is a nice size. how much are they??

oladulce - 5-14-2008 at 09:17 PM

otv was our next door neighbor in BCS until we moved few years ago. The house that he's posted for sale is a few "doors" down from that. I don't picture him being the Nomad-reading type so he might not check back to respond to questions. He's probably expecting email contacts.

I'll let him tell you the history of the house if you're interested, but I can tell you that he's been working on it for months. Lots of custom, artsy details.
He's raising the bar for the "neighborhood" with this house- darn those creative types !

joel - 5-14-2008 at 09:33 PM

There are only a few unbuilt lots in the area of this house and none -- that I know -- of is on the market. My guess is that they're worth $40-60k each, but it's really just a guess.

So clue me in. Once you get there, watch the sun rise and set a few times - what do you do way out there all year? You could build that yourself (hire your own contractor) for half that. You could spend way less than that on a place in La Paz where there is at least something to do. You could rent a nice place 6 months of the year for $1,000/mo. for 70 years for that money.

Quit making all this sense.
Your taking all the fun out of it.

otv - 5-16-2008 at 06:52 PM

HI All...Sorry I don't check this board that often. I have received several emails about the property. Thanks for all the positive feedback. Someone mentioned that he thinks he can "hire a contractor" and build THAT house for half the price, in that location. EMAIL ME. I have two houses you can start in September. Those of you who have actually built down there, know the story. The last two lots that sold on the hill (two years ago) sold for $60K each. Blank lot no water no electricity. There are no more lots for sale on the hill now, so I don't know what the current price is if you could buy one.
This place is not for everyone. San Juanico is beautiful, but you have to have the baja adventure's spirit. If shopping and fine dinning are more important to you, this is not your place. I would definitely discourage anybody who I think would not fit in down there from buying the place. More important to find a good neighbor. Thanks again. otv

SURF.

Were you around last summer? I think it's more the hope of surf than actual surf. Still, we're hooked on the place.

otv - 5-18-2008 at 04:36 PM

I agree. If you're going to San Juanico just to surf...bring a good book or books. You could be waiting a few months for the next swell.

wilderone - 5-19-2008 at 09:24 AM

Yeah, all the surfers I know have lots of money! Ha!
"Blank lot no water no electricity" - which I would bet will still be "blank" 10 years from now. The Baja, California land grab - pump and dump. Brought to you by FONATUR. Anyone with any common sense would build a la Alfonsinas style at a fraction of the cost - if one were to build at all.

wilderone - 5-19-2008 at 09:27 AM
