So, it's getting closer to my trip down to Canon de Guadalupe. Some of my travel party are getting a little nervous with all the reports of violence
in the border towns.
Our group has gone down to mexico many times but it has been a long time. We are getting a little older and not so young and stupid anymore One of our
group will be bringing a couple of kids (2 & 6).
Is the violence that bad? Do we need to worry? Has mexico changed that much? Is it overblown meda? Is there anything we can do or have to do to be
more cautious?
I would like to put people's mind's at ease. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Travel during the day. Dont look ostentatious.
You have much more safety in numbers.........you'll be fine.

I think you'll be fine.
As for the kids, what an opportunity for them. They'll remember a trip to Mexico for the rest of their lives.
Do it.

I second the advice for traveling during the day. We modified our trips from crossing the border at 4:30am to 6:30am. We have brought our 5 year old
to Mulege for the last 3 years and she absolutely loves it. Now she has the "Baja bug", and asks when we're going back. Just use your usual common
sense. Go for it!

Keep your eyes and ears open, do not assume you are still in the US, do not stop for a police car unless it has lights on the top of the car, and have
a great time.
