I-8 Or Mex 2 How Much Will I Save On Fuel?

It's a fair piece from Tecate to Santa Ana, and I was wondering what border Magna-Sin is going for? If it's less than $3.00 / gallon then I might consider this route. Interstates 8 and 19 however would be a darn sight more comfortable. Thanks for helping.

We returned 2 days ago (see Baja Trip Reports forum on Nomad) and I posted the prices... Along the border Magna was 7.51 pesos per liter with an exchange rate of 10.20 pesos per dollar makes it $2.78/ gallon... this was in Mexicali.

Remember I-8 is FREE and 2-D is NOT... Libramento Mexicali was 48 pesos, La Rumorosa was 14 pesos and El Hongo was 52 pesos.

If you take the toll highway in Baja, the fuel savings will be lost on the tolls... so stay I-8...?

From some other posts is appears to be around $2.75/gal........you may /will save a little on gas but it is just so much easier /safer (traffic)/ faster/ no mordida.....to go I-8.....one slow (smoking) truck blocking the lane for miles will make you wish you went another way.....
