baja cactus reservations?????

woody with a view - 6-7-2008 at 03:09 PM

leaving friday 10-11am and can't get an answer from antonio or anyone else. every other time we've shown (showed?) up and got a good room. i'm crossing my fingers for a repeat of the past, but are there any other recommendations for a great place at a low price. my wife loves the bajacactus (who doesn't?) and needs one good night in the civilized outpost of el rosario before enduring all of the nights we're gonna spend out there :dudette::lol::no:;D:?:.

p.s. fotos (very cropped, with no mention of gps co-ords or other identifiers) to follow.

try baja's best...someone did a review not long ago. They are on the south side of el Rosario.

While the food is very expensive at Mama's you might look at their rooms. We looked at the room at Baja Bed and Breakfast and thought it was really dark and stuffy. Did not like it at all. We also tried eating there several times, but don't do so anymore.

So, I would suggest looking at Mama's or one of the other ones. Sounds like you very much know that nothing will compare to Baja Cactus, however. A chain of Baja Cactus Motels would be sooooooooo nice.

Look forward to the undercover photos. Have a great time

I stayed at the hotel at Mama Espinoza's one night in the past couple of years when the Baja Cactus was full.

There's no comparison with these two. While I've eaten at Baja's Best, I haven't stayed in, nor seen the rooms.

Other alternatives may be closer to San Quintin.

Woody, why not just call the motel from here? Otherwise the correct email for reservations is motel@bajacactus.com However, just call... Manuel speaks English perfectly and he is usuall the late night man.

The phone number is on the web page: http://www.bajacactus.com (that is about all that is on the web page, so don't look for room photos there).

Try Jardine de Baja in San Quintin

Closed the old restaurant and made a new hotel and new restaurant, I hear around 40 bucks a night. Great setting. May be a good alternative. Had dinner there with a group of 20 a couple of weeks ago. Great food and service. Will be back again tomorrow, Enjoyed it. k:yes:

Oh, WOW. That is very cool. I'm thinking about buying a new/newer Jeep and this will be on it, for sure.

Maybe so. I didn't fully read your link but, have it bookmarked for later. I'm assuming one can tell where it is if missing. No? I'd better go back and read.

Not this model, but there are others that can track and report back to your computer in real time.

You might also want to look at this. It's a great device for tracking, reporting and rescue and does not need cell phone coverage:

My last trip to the Baja Cactus , I sent an e-mail and never got a reply. However, a room was ready in my name and when I arrived Antonio greeted me.
