Perhaps the autorun file is not right OR the autorun feature is OFF. Insert the CD, bring up Windows Explorer, search the CD for the Setup file, Double-Click on that.

Otherwise, Quien Sabe ?

Click on <Start>, run, enter the drive where your CD is located and click on the .exe file (or the Setup file if it's there. Failing that, go on line and download the drivers.

If it's a USB scanner make sure to install the software first before hooking the scanner up to the USB port.

When I lived in Orange county I often saw bright yellow vws with I think "Rent a Geek" .... check your phone book in Kingman, I wouldn't be surprised if there isn't a local rep.

Have you tried inserting any other CD into your drive? And get no response either? If you can access other CDs then maybe your scanner disk is corrupt.

Quite often you can go to the Scanner manufacturer's website and go to their SUPPORT link. Most of the time the entire collection of software for your printer or scanner will be available to download and install. So even if the drive is shot, this is a viable alternative to get you functioning. I've done that a number of times for people that had HD crashes and needed to re-install camera, printer, and scanner drivers and support programs. Going to the mfg site will guarantee the latest versions which may have corrected security problems or bugs.
