Ok question. Is it really in the spirit of this website to have propaganda regarding one's posts, or expressions of dissatisfaction with the members (and supposedly the moderators) of this board in one's signature line.

I mean, come on! You make a comment, that's one thing, but half a screen full remarking on how a post got deleted WITH EVERY FRICKIN' POST seems over the line. At least to me. But then, I'm not exactly the most popular guy around.

Just to set the record straight this has nothing to do with the moderators or the owner. It has everything to do with members who feel they are more entitled to this site than me and other members which to me is a crock. I will keep my signature as is until the owner tells me to take it down or I am permanently banned from this site. Read what is contained in my signature block. There is no rudeness there. The rudeness came from those who think they are more entitled than me or other members here on Baja Nomad.

My importance, or lack thereof, has NOTHING to do with this. I had was not involved in your post (didn't even see it), had nothing to do with it's supposed removal, but I do know this. The moderator(s) on this board are fair. Are they flawless? No, but every time one of mine has been removed, and asked the reason why, I got an answer -- a CIVIL answer. Did you try this approach? As a member of this board, you agree to your posts being removed, for whatever reason, right or wrong. It's not your decision. It's not your right to post here. You do so at the discretion of the moderators, who spend countless hours moving, and removing posts that do not conform to their idea of what this board should be, all while taking into account the (sometimes childish) sensibilities of the posters.

If you cannot conform to this. YOU HAVE NO PLACE ON THIS BOARD. You are wrong, plain and simple, and you are disrespecting the moderators and (maybe) the members. Get off your high horse. Your opinion is not that important. Get over it.

Come on, now, how clueless can you be? What have I said that makes you think I feel more entitled, or would complain to the moderators? I have said clearly what I think right here, don't need to do more than that. You have completely closed your mind to your behavior. YOU are the one who feels more entitled, as most everyone has had their posts removed, without the drama you are imposing on the entire board. Wake up, it is clear from your (other) posts that your heart is in the right place, but you have decided to make a stand on this issue and you are WRONG. And, even if you are not, it doesn't matter, the moderators are entitled to do what they did. Think about it. And, with that I am done. How do you know whatever was "banned" was banned because one or more members hit the report button? How can you be so positive that Hose A or Doug didn't feel whatever you posted was outside the scope of acceptability or board rules?

I read your statement initially & the 3-4 times you've modified it; it's too bad you feel you need to punish/irritate everyone else on the site for one (or more) person(s) hitting the report button or a moderator making a decision to remove a post? IMHO, you are showing tremendous disrespect to a lot of innocent members, not to mention creating a horrendous waste of server space. You've made your point, please show a little respect for all the other board members you're irritating & for the the essence of what this board is supposed to be about!

imho, you can tell a lot about a person just from the icons and avitars a person attaches to their baja name. i don't know anything about what's behind all the rants from eli-8, but if you look at the smily face with the fists, you will see a poof coming out the back side.

If that's what eli-8 uses as an icon, that must be what she/he really feels their opinion is worth....... a puff of stench in the wind.....

or........................... it could represent eli-8's feelings towards everyone else in the world. "I have an opinion and it must be posted no matter how offensive it is..... and fart on the rest of the world if you don't like it....."

Like Kate, I've somehow missed out on WTF is going on but whatever it is, there's too much of it.

Nobody "owns" a post, Elinvest, and the Nomad board does not include any elites. We are Equal-Opportunity Insulters.

We do have people who have been Mad as Hell for some time, and proud of it, however, and you're qualified to sign up for that ilk. These days there's not much of a waiting line.

Meanwhile, your mysterious [to folks like me, at least] screeds are really adding a lot of cllutter to the Nomad board, and we all have to scroll through it to get to stuff we find interesting. Some of us are short of time.

You might give some thought to deleting all that stuff and continuing your crusade on a fresh new level.

Personally, I have had tons of threads either moved or deleted because they were not as Baja Specific as they should have been.

I tried posting a Part 2 - Swimsuit Competition layout, and it got deleted. Oh well, I got over it. You should too.

There are members who think they are more entitled than other members and if you do not conform to certain member's way of thinking or posting they try and or have your posts removed, etc. There is no one in Baja Nomad more important than the next person. As you can see some have already come out of the woodwork. And again for the record this has nothing to do with the owner or the moderators. My signature stuff stands as is. By the way Ken I am sorry I missed the pictures dangit.

Can you more specifically define elitist as it relates to this forum?

Many of us have had posts deleted, and this certainly is not a brotherhood/sisterhood of like minded people. The opinions on this forum are wide and different.

Some like offroad racing, some hate it
Some like fishing for keeps, some like catch and release--others don't give a rip
Some like gringo settlements/ others don't
Some visit Baja alot/ some occasionally, and some not at all
Some think this is a mystical fraternity/sorority/ other laugh at that
Some think that by belonging to this forum, someone is special/ others think that is hogwash

So I really don't understand your definition of elitist.

Many of us have had posts removed and have talked directly with the moderator about it. It is no big deal---it is only a forum afterall --- even if the moderator is overpaid. :lol:

BTW, I think he does a very good job even when I disagree with him.

So that we might understand your signature post better, can you define elitist as it pertains to this forum? I am very serious, I would like to understand what and why you have that signature.

It doesn't personally offend me. Probably because it does not involve me. I don't see rudeness; just a bit of an obsession with something the rest of us aren't privy to.

I read it once and now skip over it because I don't need to read it again. I'm not sure that I ever needed to read it, but it is my choice to read it or not. :rolleyes:

OK I get it -- you are going to save the board for me and all of us who suffer from the slings and arrows of the unknown elitists. I would think I'm not in the offending group- so thanks for letting me go in peace-but I'm not sure I need to be saved- at least not by you.

I take comments for what they are worth- those who have given advice freely I thank them, those who just want to chat or share experiences or photos , I thank them. Those who relay news about my areas of interest like fishing or building, travels or troubles- I thank them. To a person they have all been courteous to me, given me what I asked for and I thank them.

Some folks are a little pompous, have more experience in Baja than me, know more about off-roading or fishing, building or life in the ejido. I generally see their comments as attempts at sharing their experience and forgive their pomposity. I don't need you to save me from them- I can sort out what needs to savored and rejected. So the way I see it- your position is rather egotistical- you know best and will be in everyone's face until stopped by the moderators.

So with some reservations I ask the moderators to let us get back to civil discourse- exchange of good,and sometimes not so good information and keep me from being saved by my self-appointed savior. Thanks-- Norm

For those of you who don't get what I am doing then so be it. For those who do I am continuing on until I am asked to take down my signature by the owner not the entitled elitists. Again the item in my signature does not pertain to the owner, the moderators or the rest of the membership.
It only pertains to the elitists and their ilk in here. I just plain refuse to be run roughshod over by anyone in this forum or anywhere else for that matter. I have been like that all of my life. I do not think I will be stopping that anytime soon.

Just for the record since I have joined Baja Nomad I have played nice in the sandbox. I continue to play nice even with this over my head.

There is one salient FACT which flies in the face of the entire premise of your arguments here!! Either you aren't knowledgeable enough about how this board is managed, or you are in total denial! You have repeatedly stated that you have no problem with "the moderators or the site owner." Think on this fact: Individual members do NOT have the ability to edit or delete posts! The report button is NOT an automated feature!!! Anytime someone hits the report button, it generates a message for the "moderator & site owner's" review. The moderator & site owner have 100% edit or removal discretion & capability. They & they alone decide what stays & what goes, and they do NOT automatically remove anything based on having received one or more complaints on a post. It gets edited or removed based on the moderator or owners assessment of violation of posted Board Rules. Posts or threads are NOT removed based on a complaint(s), they are removed based on the MERIT of the complaint(s) in accordance with Board Rules!

Elitism...Look it up. You elitists just don’t get it. It has nothing to do about the post which was deleted. Some of you who have posted in here are what I call “Sheeple.” That is people who just follow elitists around and graze behind them and kiss their ring. Lot's of signatures I've seen here have foul partisan political statements.
