Momma's got a new pair!

Paulina - 6-11-2008 at 06:20 PM

 That's right, I got a new pair!

I've always wanted them, and Dern agreed I'd look better with them so he finally bought them for me.

I can't wait to flash these beauties next week on the Andrea Lynn out of San Felipe. :o

We're going with a group of guys from the L.A. Sheriff Homicide division. They are going to wish their wives could have a pair like mine!

Momma's got a new pair of real, white, rubber, panguero boots!!!

Dern picked them up for me at Prolisa in San Felipe just after he got off of the Andrea Lynn last month. They're going to be a little big, but that's all the better so when/if I go overboard, they won't act as anchors. I really have always wanted a pair and now my wish has come true.

I'm thinking I should bring them back stateside at the end of the summer for wading through some of the posts on this board. They could serve a dual purpose! :P

P<*)))>{

ps. Edit for fish-hugging people, we have made arrangements to donate our fish to Agua Viva Orphanage in the Cantu/Ramajal area, otherwise we had planned on C & R, and will after we fill one 75 qt. chest.

wow Paulina, LOVE your new pair...but they just beg to be painted...like some wild 60's neon coloured flowers and paisley paterns..maybe some peace signs....I think it was Dern's afro that conjured up those thoughts! love the do!

Natalie Ann - 6-11-2008 at 06:34 PM

Ah, Paulina - Those are fine boots. Dern must love you very much to give them up to you.
He's obviously a keeper... as are the boots. You are one very lucky woman.;D:biggrin:

Nena

Paulina - 6-11-2008 at 06:43 PM

Thank you ladies for your kind replies. Yes, I'm one lucky woman. Dern put my boots on so that our neighbor could take a photo to email to me back in the states. He had to throw the fish into the photo too, the only one he kept.

This thread had the potential to turn south sooooooo quickly!

:wow:

Paulina - 6-11-2008 at 06:48 PM

grover,

I'd like a pair in pink.

DENNIS - 6-11-2008 at 06:49 PM

Didn't Nancy Sinatra croon a ditty about "These Boots?"

docsmom - 6-11-2008 at 06:49 PM

Those boots were made for fish'n
and that's just what they'll do
one of these days these boots are gonna fish all over you.............
Go mama!

DianaT - 6-11-2008 at 06:51 PM

Paulina,

Ah yes, on the other thread you mentioned the boots you could loan me well I had no idea they were so BEAUTIFUL.

But will they look good with the tierra?

Diane

Paulina - 6-11-2008 at 07:00 PM

Diane,

Will they look good with the tierra? Hmm. Well, most of the boots you will find for sale are brown. That might be a better color choice if one were concerned with first impressions in the fashion department and not willing to mix the color scheme up.

Although with white boots you will stand out in the croud, and not be mistaken for tierra and there's nothing a good squirt with the hose won't take care of when all is said and done.

OMG, where are the spelling police when I need them!

I meant tiara----but maybe tierra is better as it is the color of what I have been somewhat guilty of wading in lately. Maybe I can spray that off with the hose.:lol:

Now, those are classy boots that would look great with the pink waders, but I want to see the hat, gloves and purse you will add to this ensemble.

Diane

DianaT - 6-11-2008 at 07:25 PM

But, at least Paulina can get a fishing vest in pink!

Paulina - 6-11-2008 at 07:34 PM

Allow me to introduce my good friend Ava Gutierrez sporting my lucky fishing hat.

My rusty WON money hook is holding one of "Beto Diaz's" feathers. The flies were made by a very good friend of mine using bits and pieces of rope and fishing net he found on the beach in Bahia.

There's also a handy dandy light clipped on the front for night fishing.

It used to be red, now it's feeling more pink to me. This summer I've added sun protection in the form of my grandmother's handkerchiefs. Notice the "P" in the corner of the hankie?

Very lucky.

DianaT - 6-11-2008 at 07:51 PM

That hat is fantastic.
:yes::yes:
Now just as suggestions only, here are some sunglasses and a tackle bag that you might want to consider.

Need to put it all together---you will be such a hit!

ELINVESTIG8R - 6-11-2008 at 07:55 PM

Paulina is that an Amazon Parrot feather on the right side of your lucky fishing hat. And do you have an Amazon Parrot?

bajaguy - 6-11-2008 at 08:09 PM

OK, I can't hold it back any longer...........you just need to add a pair of daisy dukes and a white "wife beater" t-shirt and your outfit will be complete.....

bajaguy - 6-11-2008 at 08:15 PM

bajalera - 6-11-2008 at 08:26 PM

I'm sooooo jealous! I've never had a pair like that.

Paulina - 6-11-2008 at 08:35 PM

The parrot feather was donated by Beto during "Office Hours". Beto is the handsome one wearing green and yellow in this photo:

I already do the wife beater, but the Daisy Dukes are off limits. I'm more of a sarrong girl myself.

oladulce - 6-11-2008 at 09:46 PM

For some real bling bling, these

PumpkinPepper Salty Lunker Grub lures would be my suggestion.

Mainly because it would be fun to say
"PumkinPepperSaltyLunkerGrub" whenever someone asks you

"What the heck is on your ears??!!"

Paulina - 6-11-2008 at 09:52 PM

oladulce y morgaine,

I used to have a pair of hoochies that I wore for earrings. Never thought of pumpkinpeppersaltylunkergrubs. Way more fun to say and what a conversation starter!

My fashion sense, or lack there of, was all bound to come out in the laundry anyway.

About "the pair" They certainly seem to be "symetrical" I just hope they are made of good medical grade silicon. They could be slippery when wet;);)

Instead of the "wife beater" t-shirt, I think to complete the outfit it should be a tube top!:dudette:

Paulina - 6-12-2008 at 08:21 PM

Bajagypsy,

I don't think my booTs could support a tube top at my age! ;)

Roberto - 6-12-2008 at 08:41 PM

Frankly I would have preferred pics of the OTHER pair instead of white boots, fishing hats and pink ... stuff.

Maybe that's just me, but I doubt it.

Let's be honest here - much more likely
that the tube top couldn't support the booTs, don't you think??

Diver - 6-12-2008 at 09:55 PM

I was about to add some pink boots to complete the look but I just couldn't bring myself to cover those, um, boot holders !!

That poor girl in pink is starving!! She needs to eat a couple tortas de carnitas

toneart - 6-13-2008 at 11:41 AM

Paulina,
Thank you for starting this thread. ;)

Compared to some other recent threads, this one has given me lots of laughs-out-loud. There is good levity in Momma's brand new pair! :bounce::lol::cool:

Wiles - 6-13-2008 at 11:48 AM

Paulina,

Looking forward to your trip report and pictures. I suspect your report will have a full bodied, well rounded, firm yet delicate feel to it.

P.S. Be careful with your new pair. The UV rays are quite intense this time of year and synthetics are quite suseptable to damage. I suggest spf30 for protection in preventing sunburn, peeling and wrinkling. Take good care of them and they will be admired by fisherman for years to come.

PP.SS. Have a great trip. Catch a bunch, take lots of pictures, find some whales.
